Well, that can't be good for the cats... Hope you are not in an emissions inspection area.

Hello; That is a lot of fuel for the things i am thinking. My first thought was of a leaky injector. It would have to be in a cylinder with the exhaust valve open. Also, ought to check the oil as it may be filled with gas.

I did not have the sound on with the video playing. Was the key on? I am wondering if the fuel line is leaking onto the exhaust and running back to the exhaust pipe.

I am guessing. Find the fuel pump fuse and pull it. Get it away from the house.

As others have said please dont drive that car! for that much gas you to be coming out you must have a bad injector i have seen it in other ford cars with D I, couple years ago had a customer's SHO having issues with long cranks to start up and the smell of gas out the exhaust granted it wasn't that crazy but similar issues, u got very lucky that car didnt get to hot a burst into flames, best of luck

Wow! I have never seen anything like that! There’s extreme risk of hydrolock, which I have seen on BMW N63 engines with leaking GDI injectors. Most of those resulted in a destroyed engine. Do not run the car any longer, and get it towed wherever it needs to go to get fixed. Change the oil after finding and replacing the leaking injector(s). I’d probably run a borescope in the cylinders and make sure they look ok. Perform a compression test. Hopefully it’s not too late already.

Hello; lost an engine from hydrolock. So yeah. At least pull the spark plugs and spin the engine. will blow the gas out the hole. Most likely the gas will have seeped past the rings anyway. maybe pull the plugs and let it sit a while so the gas can evaporate.

Good luck and a nice save. Did not burn up the car nor the house.

100% sure it's gas, and not water that smells a bit like weak gas as its exited the exhaust ?

Not that I'm asking you to run it again, but was it a one off, has it done it before, did it clear etc etc ?

Some context would be good.

Had the car been just been washed by a third party ?

I ask the last one as when we were kids, we would leave the hose running up mums exhaust (that just sounds wrong ...), as it amused us when we would stand at the gates as mum stated her car so we could let her reverse off the drive ...

After the initial spurt, it would run exactly as per your video until she had driven off / the car had a good run etc

I had the same initial thought as well, but ultimately figured that much fuel would have to be obvious. Also it sounded like it might be misfiring in the video.

Sound was not working on the video for me. But, I had the same thought process as you.
That looks like it would be a massive fuel leak.
Are you 100% sure it’s fuel?
I agree if you are unsure it’s not worth starting the car again to check..

Fire bad. So is an injector rinsing oil off cylinder walls. Can’t remember if it was E9X or F10 BMW M series that had the same issue and it results with a (very expensive) engine replacement.

I also thought it looked like water... Depending on the ambient temperature in that video (and looks like you're in Texas, so it probably wasn't that cold), I would expect pure gas to evaporate fairly quickly, and not pool that much at the rate it was coming out of the exhaust.

But I don't claim to be an authority on the subject. Just that my instinct is similar to a couple others above -- maybe try to verify what the liquid is (or ask your shop to).
