Posting for updates as I bought the G-Loc's from our friend here Optimum for next season. Love the thread info. Mostly I swap pads for track season, drive to my local track. This coming season I may attempt tracks farther out and would need to trailer the GT.

Definitely keep us posted! Which compound do you run? I feel like you could definitely get away with driving a long way with an R10/R8 and Maybe R12/R10. :)

I'm putting the R10/R8's on based on recommendations for now. As to going to tracks farther away I'm not concerned about brake pads, and not thinking negative here but if the GT developed any serious problems while at the track I want to be able to drive away "with" the GT. I did drive to Gingerman though from Indy.

Gotcha! I'll post my experiences with the R10/R8 compound here as well as soon as they get shipped!

I daily drive r18/r12 100 miles/day. My gs1 just sit in a box brand new.

Little touchy when cold but great when I try to win the hpde trophy on the weekends.

When I switched in 2022, I was using RSL29 in the rear. But for my last event at Road Atlanta I used R12 in the rear and like that much better so that’s what I’m sticking with.

You got brake fade after 2 laps?! I currently run hawk hps 5.0 pads and I don't get fade until my 6th session. I run at Road Atlanta and do get a serious high speed stop, the R12 is 1500 degrees, more than double the heat of the hawk pads. I guess those brake vanes make an absolute massive difference!

To be fair though, I did engineer brake vanes of my own that fit on the non pp control arms.

I thought you already had those plates. I was on R12/10 combo and I got it bad. Once I added the plates from GTP all my problems with it went away

You're hauling man! Looks like a fun track too, but yes lots of hard braking!

Try the brake cooling vanes before you upgrade you brakes that much! If I can get away with street-ish pads at road atlanta with them on you could definitely stay with the brakes you have!
