Fuel pump runs a lot

I have an 18 with a Gen 5 Whipple with a Lund tune ,,, the fuel pump runs when you open the driver door ,, if you don’t start the car it will run until the battery times out .. is this typical?

It should prime when you open the door, but should not continuously run. Are you sure it's the fuel pump, and not the fans that keep running?
