I have a 2016 and browsing through these forms, I read that Gen 3 doesn't build up carbon on the valves like Gen 1 and 2 do. Of course I'd like to avoid removing the valves and cleaning all 32 with a wired brush... Any cleaning solutions that pour into the tank actually work?

Seafoam. Past that you can buy gas exclusively at chevron. While both are essentially gimmicks as you don’t need either/ build up isn’t a problem until you’ve wracked up miles, both do in fact help clean up and reduce carbon build up.

Techron Fuel System Cleaner by Chevron. Only one I’d use if I was to use one.

Techron is fine but you don't want to over mix the gas with extra on extra detergents. Same effect of running octane booster. You will get un-burnt detergents tainting your oil and sticking to any metal. All gas stations are not the same. Most people can't tell a difference so they go for the cheapest or most convenient. If you have a GT, don't worry about taking things apart to clean valves. Only DI engines have that issue, but you don't have one if you have a 16 GT.

Oh thank goodness. I want to keep this as my weekend car and find a beater or bike to commute to work. Work is 5 miles one way for me.

No need for fuel system cleaners anymore. Detergents in fuel and the added Ethanol keeps the system and engine as clean as it’s ever going to be. Just happily bring load and RPM’s to your engine periodically, and enjoy the performance.

For non-direct injection would say no need, might help on an old beater.

For direct injection think the jury is still out whether any of the cleaners help, or whether a catch can helps here.
