I'm in the process of installing the FP Track Handling pack.
I was comparing the front assembled struts and I noticed they are the exact same length (spring length is the same, overall length is the same), which I found very strange, as it is supposed to have a higher rate (194 lbs/inch vs 160 lbs/inch) AND should lower the car. But basically, same length + higher rate will make the car higher, not lower ... !
I wonder if some of you who have already installed that kit noticed the same thing ? Am I overthinking this or what ? :D

EDIT: I don't really want the car to be lowered though, I just want it to behave a lot better than a base GT.

Thanks !

The Track pack shocks are monotube, they tend to extend when there's no weight on them. So they might look the same height as your old assembly but that's because your FP Track shorter spring is in less tension than the OE one. Don't overthink it, it's gonna be fine...

The assembled strut is extended out against it's maximum travel and still under spring pressure. The length you notice is more to do with the limit of strut travel and less with spring rate.

I had these shocks on my 16 GTPP along with BMR handling springs so I can speak on them. Kind of a side note though. Looking back, I wish I would've just kept the PP shocks on and moved to like a 400/900 adjustable spring perch. It wasn't a shock problem for me, it's the industries incredibly low front spring rate. Drove my friend's 16 GTPP with 400/900 and it was incredible. Totally transformed the car. I'm going to use AJ Hartman 400/900 adjustable perches here soon. You can choose whatever rate you want and set the height to whatever you want. Win/win.
