What forscan tool is the proper one to buy. I seen about 300 options.
Looking for one to use on the Infotainment system
turn on the line lock
and do various other things.

I have no idea what the part number is or how to and where to buy.

I bought my wife a 2015 Eco Boost yesterday.
Heated and Cooled seats are not working
Navigation is not present in the car
the SD card for the Navigation is not present in the car.

Please can someone help me out on these things. Thank you this forum saves me so much head ache some time.

is this a box needed for the forscan or is this the forscan stuff?
Forscan is the software that you use to make the changes with your laptop. The device, or "box" is needed to let your laptop communicate with the car through the OBD II port. Forscan is a free software download that requires a license to make changes to the programming. It takes a little time to get because an admin has to approve your request on Forscan.org. You can't make changes with a phone app; Forscan lite is for viewing PIDs.

That said, it is not straight forward to make changes. It's all numbers and letters....you have to have a spreadsheet with the specific items and changes you want to make. It's not like there's a neat list in Forscan that lists all the parameters...there's definitely a learning curve to the programming.

forscan itself is free. All the dongle/plug/box or whatever you want to call it does is allow the connection between the laptop and the car. I use the OBDLink MX+ which is one of the recommended ones by forscan I have had no issues with it.

Heated cooled seats dont work? does the car have the option in it? You can just make it work and turn it on. If the car didn't come with it then you dont have it. Turning the option on in the head unit won't put the duct work into the seats. If it has it and it simply does not work then take it back to be fixed. Same for navigation. If it does not have it you can't just turn it on in the head unit with forscan it does not work that way. There are physical components that are missing thats why those cars are cheaper.
I have the OBDLink MX+ as well. Very awesome tool! I've done a number of logs on my Mustang and my wife's XC90. I'm about to add a few bolt ons to my car and I want to know what the actual gains are (MAF, acceleration splits, etc.), all measured by the OBDLink MX+.

I guess if the heated and cooled seats arent working you could use forscan to see the DTCs. Other than that, not sure how Forscan will help you there. Same with navigation.

The car came with heated and cooled seats. The heated seats and cooled seats do not work. (Its either a fuse, or wiring, or something) Going to check when I get home. Wanted to know what fuse to look for to start and see if it's a burned fused.

The car has two antenna

I found that the heated and cooled seats were not working because the little control box and wiring harness burned up. I ordered the replacement parts for those. Still trying to figure out if the thing came with navigation and just missing the card or what. I got the car for 12 grand It's actually in excellent condition with a few go fast goodies. After my long tube install on the 5.0 Thursday I'm going to the eco boost on the jack stands and have a sneak peak underneath and look around.

Well on the navigation
Cool guess I misunderstood your original question then. Yeah forscan wont help with the seats. As for nav he cars either have it or don't. Its not hiding in there waiting to be turned on is all I meant. I dont think forscan will help with either of your issues. But sounds like you got a great deal. enjoy :)

Well, if the card is missing wouldn't that mean the Navigation wouldn't pull up at all or what? What happens if you try to pull the GPS up and the SD card is not in?

My apologies I misread. I thought you said there is not slot for a sd card not that the card was missing. If you have the slot for it... If it's like my other cars(I don't know about the mustang) the nav won't work without the map card. Forscan cant help with that. As the nav needs the map info in order to work. IN my girlfriends nissan juke her nav wont even pull up or let you use the option if the sd card is not inserted. Newer navs have the info on the head unit the ones with sd cards had the info on the cards and they need those cards to work.
What I am trying to figure out it has navigation and just needs the card. (Car didn't come with the card as it was used) or if It needs everything to make the factory navigation work. If I need to buy everything I might just go aftermarket on everything. If it just needs the card I am going to just buy the card for it.
