I want to buy an adapter to run forscan and was wondering what the differences are between it and forscan lite. I would like to get the OBDLink MX+ so I could use it on my iPhone and I read that lite will not do all functions. I want to change some of the common ones like disable the EQ, honk when exit car etc. Will lite do that?

My man, did you attempt at all to answer this yourself before asking by either searching the site or google?

Found this link in under a minute googling "Forscan Lite vs Forscan" and clicking the first link. No configuration or programming for Forscan Lite for iOS. Would imagine this huge Forscan thread will answer other questions you may have.

Big advocate of attempting to help yourself first.

Yes I did. I thought it wouldn't hurt to hear if anyone has used the lite. I'm a big advocate of asking questions in my research. If it bothers you maybe in the future don't respond to my questions.

You need a laptop with the Forscan app to do what you want to do. Any ODB link to USB device that can plug in to your laptop will work.

The lite app is not really useful for much. You need a laptop.

FWIW, I tried to hook up Forscan to my '22, and it had some error about not being identified or recognized and to contact Forscan. I posted on their forum with no response. I've done a lot with my '16 Police Utility with Forscan. The unit that they recommend on their site with the automatic high-low speed switch works best.

Dont get the lite. Get the EX or Mx Plus like you want for iphone use. I have the Ex and works like a charm. No need to mess with any switches.
