Hi. Today I attempted my first Forscan change and came up short. I wanted to turn of the bass clipping on my 2019 Mustang GT and everywhere I looked I saw these instructions, change line 727-01-02 from 01xx to 00xx. The problem is my as built code for line 727-01-02 looks like this, 0200 33. Any idea why mines set that way and is there still a way of turning off the EQ? Thanks.

I don't really understand what the issue is.

if your current code is this

727-01-02 0200 33
make it
727-01-02 0000 33...........

I guess the issue is from everything I've read is 1 means it's turned on, 0 means it's turned off, so why do I have a 2 there? Is there another mode to this that I may be screwing up.

If it matters I have the 9 speaker system.

because there's different values for different cars.

just make it 0 and don't worry about it. 0 is off you can make it 2 afterwards if you don't like it, its not permanent.

The weird thing is, I already have a zero at that spot.
My original as-built value for 727-01-02 is 0000 31.
I have the twelve speaker B&O system.
Maybe this module has changed in 2020, like the BCM?

So I did make the change. When I changed it to a 0 the 33 change itself to 31. First impression is it sounds better but I'll need to spend some time in the car before I know for sure. I've already spent hours doing a spring cleaning on the car and the forecasts sucks for the next few days so I won't be taking it out for a while. I'll post back once I've listened to it for a while.

Hey, as noted above, you NEVER change the last 2 digits; they're the 'checksum'. They always change when you change something, and are calculated automatically by FORScan. As an FYI :).

I'll have to think about that. I've changed 7 of the 9 speakers in the car to Kenwoods, including the center speaker. Just the pillar tweeters are stock. As long as the rear deck speakers can produce bass I can adjust the fade more rearward if need be.

I don't understand why you would do any of what you just said.

but, center channel sucks.- fading them forward would make it stronger?. and take away the rears bass...? goodlck with your goals. enjoy! your eq is disabled. up to you to modify it to your taste

Hey, just checked mine, and they're 00s too (2019 Bullitt), but 0088 B9. So does that mean our EQs are already disabled? So there's nothing to change, right???

I think you misread what I said, I said fade it rearward. Either way I'll try it like this for a while and like you said earlier, if I don't like it I can always change it back to the factory settings.

Thank you for your help and encouragement. Hacking into a factory computer is not something I have done before and I think it's obvious I'm not comfortable doing so.

Just back up the modules you plan to change before touching anything, so you can revert back to factory if needed. If you forgot, you can get your full 'as-built' file from this site: https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt . The first time you need to choose 'united states' first. When it redirects you to a Motorcraft site, close that tab, open a new one, choose the same link, and this time it'll show a window to put your VIN. At least in my case, all lines I checked were identical to stock, so I'd say it's quite reliable. Hope this helps.
