Thoughts on Aston Martin? High hopes don’t seem quite so high any more. Poor Fernando. Honda really hates him!

Hello; I find myself backing away from following the details since it seems I will not be able to watch the races live. I would like to see Alonzo in a good car.

It’s interesting. I completely get the importance of aero. That said the massive amounts of heat these systems generate is unreal. Physics and engineering is important, but so is a healthy dose of common sense. Engines and mechanical systems need air, it seems some have lost track of that. Sure hope they get it turned around.

Interesting if true.

C15 Studio renews deal with Formula 1 for free streaming channel
Hello; Some news about the F1 Channel. Not exactly clear to me so read for yourself. My take is this is the F1 Channel I already mention in past posts. If the free streaming part is correct, then I will be back in business.
I started the sign-up process for the Pluto app a few days ago but stopped. I plan to find the terms & conditions to look over before signing up. Pluto appears to offer cloud recording with a subscription. Not sure such will work with what is called live TV.
On the ROKU app I have been using some programs can be saved and you can stop & then pick up where you left off later. Other shows no can do. You have to watch it in real time like old fashioned TV.
I have subscriptions to PLUTO and a few other free streaming apps. What i have noticed is a program such as Modern Marvels will be the same episode at the same time on the other streaming platforms.

But maybe I will get the races almost a week later. The past year the rebroadcasts started on Friday after the race. Not keen on having to watch live but I did get F2 races and other shows not on ESPN last year.
I need to find a way to get the programing schedule ahead of time.

Interesting quali. Looks like the initial favorites are doing well, massive difference in performance across the field. Some several seconds slower than the leaders. Plenty of back markers in the race I think.
On the plus side my f1 app on Roku still works which is nice. App on my iPhone does not, which is annoying as it’s the same log in.

Yeah the F1 app doesn’t work on my iPhone 8 Plus anymore because iOS is too old. However the F1 TV app works. Silliness.

I see why Fred wanted a reliable car. Lots of issues with other cars. They were pretty fast on the mediums in Q1 but then on the softs not so much.

I’m surprised anything still works on an 8, lol. (Sorry, bad joke, had to!)

Yeah, nice watch. But it will run four seconds a day slow!!! :giggle: :like:
Aahhhhhh…I see what you did there. I just got that one, lol. Yeah, I wonder if current performance/issues is gonna hurt sales?

I really enjoyed the first qualifying of 2026. Congrats to George. But major sandbagging by Mercedes. Way to go Toto. Serious props to the Mercedes mechanics for getting Kimi from wreck to P2. Amazing qualifying for Isack, shame for Max. Decent qualifying for Charles but where was Lewis? McLaren certainly has their work cut out for them. Now on to the race. Can’t wait!!!

I'll be creating a "Formula 1 a week ago" thread for us cheapskates to discuss F1 without the spoiler alerts of this thread.
Hello; Have you created the new thread yet?

An mildly interesting thing happened. I left my Direct TV box set to record F1 events and did not change the setting. Unexpectedly the practice & qualifying showed up as being recorded the last day or two. I opened the recording to find a message the channel is not in my package so no show to watch.
I just looked up the packages and found I can add apple TV for 12.99/month. I could get more than F! to be sure. But an irony being back in January I negotiated a good deal for a discount on my current package price. $40/month off for the year. In February i get a letter from DTV saying if I change any of my programming or equipment protection package the new deal is void.

just as well as I do not intend to pay extra to get F!. The F1 CHANNEL should rebroadcast the races five or so days later, I think.

I did a free trial of Apple TV to let me watch until I can see if the free delayed races really happen.
