That pic of the car on the old banked section of Monza is just awesome.

The Sotheby's site in-general is good for finding pro-level photos from upcoming and past sales, along with old archive shots like that.

I didn't know the car had been part of the collection at Indy for decades. The museums loan them to one another, like other sites do for artwork.

I watched the car auction yesterday. Sotheby's posts videos of all their auctions. Specific to this car, no spoilers...if you watch the auction, notice the number of people placing bids. Also, the increments, the steps as the bidding increases.

British Grand Prix at Silverstone this year...

There's a pretty good chance I will be in London for work 7-11 July this year. Which means, I could certanly catch the race on Sunday. Given the expense and multiple other factors, I'm most likely limited to straight up general admission tickets for the race on Sunday. Worth it? Yeah, I'd love to go all out and drop $$$$$$ and go full baller, but just can't. How's the general admission and/or the F1 experience at Silverstone?

There's a pretty good chance I will be in London for work 7-11 July this year. Which means, I could certanly catch the race on Sunday. Given the expense and multiple other factors, I'm most likely limited to straight up general admission tickets for the race on Sunday. Worth it? Yeah, I'd love to go all out and drop $$$$$$ and go full baller, but just can't. How's the general admission and/or the F1 experience at Silverstone?

I've not been for about 10 years now so I'll be honest I don't know if the general admission tickets would be as good value as they used to be, they typically keep adding more grandstands which are all 'add ons' and will increase your cost. I'd have a look at any package deals you can find which will include a grandstand somewhere. Viewing from trackside at Silverstone always has been a bit poor due to it being so flat.

I can't speak to the General Admission seating, but if you're not familiar with the area, I would not attempt to drive there directly. Take the train, a bus, caravan , park-and-ride, etc. It's probably one of the most-visited events in the entire country.

I have some ideas you could look at and study.

You'll notice from the attached maps there are a good number of small villages throughout the area. They could have a small hotel or private BNB-type place. The problem with getting to these areas on race weekend, especially getting to the track, is one of transport: to-and-from the villages, to-and-from the track.

The area in-general witnesses hundreds of thousands of people coming and going. Additionally, these small towns might have limited to no public transport. Taxi or Uber might be available, but that becomes something akin to driving it yourself.

I feel a better option is to focus on two nearby towns which have existing bus service to the event and have been doing it for some time: Milton Keynes and Northampton. Each of these cities have populations of 250,000, train service to London and bus service to the track.

Depending on your schedule, that could give you two broad options: 1) arriving at either of those cities before, like Friday or Saturday, then busing over the day of the race. Or 2) taking the train the day of, Sunday, and busing straight to the track.

An additional option would be to chopper in and charge that to corporate.

I just subscribe to the F1 channel. Obviously it’s an extra for some people but I don’t watch anything else on espn so it made sense to me.

I felt MSNBC Sports had covered the sport well when they were broadcasting the races.

When ESPN won the rights, they simply out-sourced a connection to Sky Sports and washed their hands of it.

If I have a gambling addiction and need up to the second commentary on an upcoming football, basketball or baseball game, I'll tune into ESPN. If I'm interested in any other sport, world sports and motorsports especially, I have to go somewhere else.

If I want to listen to a room full of commentators argue amongst themselves for three hours straight about the effectiveness of one place kicker, I'll tune into ESPN. If I want in-depth reporting of virtually anything else, I have to go somewhere else.

If Fox Sports wins the contract and we have to listen to their commentary, it'd be worse still.

If Fox doesn't win the bid and it goes to another broadcaster, I'd like to think we'll be better off.

Their coverage of soccer and World Cup events was abysmal. I couldn't steel myself to watch it.

Commentators blabbering on about sports and topics they had no experience with or insight of.

Hello; Found a different story on F1 broadcasts. In this report it seems ESPN will air the 2025 season and this will be the last season. I had thought the change would be sooner.
