The idea that her being involved with Hamilton somehow makes the others more aware of his ability’s or his new level is what I was referring to. As for the embarassing part, it’s one thing to have an assitstant, or many if needed. This isn’t that. If Verstappen had this same situation the Hamilton fanboys would be screaming he’s weak and needs someone holding his hand and constantly placating his ego. It comes off as coddling. I do find it interesting the claim he is the greatest(not by a longshot, but don’t think anybody gets that title) but clearly can’t stand on his own two feet on his own. To be truthful I think all of this nonsense is distracting to what really matters, which is the racing.

Why would those teams not like that picture?

And why is it embarrassing and what would that have to do with the inevitable blowup with Charles?

I'm missing something.

Believe it or not, truly wish Hamilton the best. The reality that he’s somehow going to transform that team isn’t fair to him. Ferarri has internal issues that consistently come up and at the most inopportune times. That won’t change. It’s kind of like the Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones.

Angela back with Lewis is a formidable team. If Ferrari can field a competitive car Lewis is going to be hard to beat.

To be fair, even Lewis' fans are saying he needs her.

And FWIW Angela says Lewis is one of the best drivers she's worked with.

Hello; The last few posts about the woman Angela are interesting. I do not know about her and confess to just now hearing about her. I was married to a woman named Angela for a number of years, not the same person. Unrelated to the racing???

Brundle contradicts himself: 'Hamilton has had his best days'
Hello; The race broadcasts I have heard the last few years have included Martin Brundle. The other is called Croftie I think. I do not recall which is the greater Lewis fanboy but think it may be Brundle. I await the races to see if Lewis at Brundle's 96% of his former self can win races. maybe if the Ferrari is five percent better than all the other cars. But we run the races and play the games to find out, all the jawing about it is mere noise.

You'll get no argument from me about Ferrari's consistency. But Lewis brings years of experience and knowledge with him that will hopefully allow them to challenge for a championship. It's going to be an exciting year.

I don’t get this. Many F1 drivers have personal assistants/trainers. Some are just more visible than others.

Some agents do that for their drivers as well as top tier athletes in many sports.

That's true, but It's Lewis and that's what makes it news. Keep in mind we are talking about a European sport not an American on. Kind of what Taylor Swift is here.

Hello 2morrow; I agree it does not make sense but Bikeman's response sort of gets the gist of it. For most of us these race car drivers are quite a bit less than cultural icons. Drivers come and go over time. For me following F1 has been since the 1960's. First only from Road &Track magazine articles. Later in the late 80's to early 90's some regular TV broadcasting of the races.

For me Lewis is a decent driver who has been lucky in that he has had some top tier cars to drive and won a number of races. I figure a number of drivers could have had as good of a record if given top tier cars. For many of the past seasons Lewis was as good as or slightly better than the other team driver. The cars were good enough they normally finished 1st & 2nd unless some mechanical fault or wreck happened. Sometimes Lewis disobeyed team orders and did steal race wins from a co-team driver. Such a thing was among the reasons I came to dislike him as a driver.

The last few seasons the MB is no longer the dominant car. The RB became near par with the MB so Lewis had to struggle to win a race in the season in which Max won his first championship. The MB was still slightly better than the RB at the time, but Max could drive it well and outdrove Lewis that season. By then Lewis had become a cultural icon among many so much so that reason no longer applied. Max's first championship crushed the soles of the Lewis fans. They still will argue that Lewis was cheated out of that 8th title. One who posts on this forum has even stated that Lewis is an 8-time champion. The derangement is real. I wonder what the die-hard Lewis fans will do with all the MB memorabilia. Guess they will have to buy up some Ferrari stuff.

If the recent past gives us clues, I do not expect Lewis to excel in the Ferrari. The last few seasons Lewis was surpassed by Russell in the MB. If the Ferrari turns out to be the dominant car of the 2025 season, I can see them finishing 1st & 2nd as does happen when a car is better than all the rest. Would not be a surprise to see Lewis finishing behind the other Ferrari driver most of the time. To be sure I do not have a clue which car will dominate this year.

I lived thru the Michael Schumacher era at Ferrari. The Lewis era will pass as well.

It doesn’t have anything to do with Hamilton because its Hamilton and it’s true others have assistants. The difference here is there‘s no line where one stops and the other begins. It’s to the point it’s much the same as a support animal for some. Not referring to her as such, just the situational comparison. It is what it is, hope it suits him well and works out for the better.

History is not on their side with this, unfortunately.

Hello; Such is the real question. Can Ferrari both build a fast car and also run races well?
