I haven’t been too ingrained in F1 but starting to get into it a little more. This seems stupid, right? Sounds like Andretti did everything he was supposed to and was still denied? What am I missing here?

Disgusting behaviour from the f1 teams blocking this. You are right, they met every criteria i can see. The FIA accepted that everything was ok but still people object.
Maybe put aside differences and partner with Haas and see what they could do together maybe even with the Cadillac engine option. I fear for Haas this year to be honest.

Also, 16. made me laugh. “Some name recognition” for the Andretti name by F1 fans? Are you fricking kidding me? Andretti and racing are like peanut butter and jelly. My son knows the Andretti name and he doesn’t watch racing of any kind 🤦‍♂️

I’ll definitely be watching more this year. Some of the comments I’ve seen on social media suggest the same, buy or partner with Haas. Is it an anti-US team thing with the other race teams? Seems like F1 is becoming quite popular here now. There’s talks here in Chicago of partnering with F1 to do a street race, similar to what NASCAR did and is doing here.

I think there is a concern that F1 is moving too much into the US after years of not much interest. No other countries have more than 1 (occasionally 2) I'm not a fan of Miami or Las Vegas, there are plenty of real tracks that are much better options but from a marketing POV it makes sense to have the glitz and glamour of Miami and LV.
I'd have Laguna Seca, Watkins Glen and Road America before either.

This report says it's a not yet As the Cadillac engine wouldn't be ready for a year or two so they'd have to use a Renault engine and this wouldn't be a competitive package. How the hell do they know? It's not like Andretti haven't been racing at the top of various motorsports before...

Yeah sounds like possibly 2028. I agree though, Andretti knows how to put competitive cars and teams together, they’re not new to racing. Maybe it’s the ability to build two different cars in a short amount of time since the regulations change in 2026? I don’t know, seems like a lame reason to me but like I said, I’m novice when it comes to F1 right now.

I was able to get a tour of COTA right before its inaugural race some years back. Someone I did business with had some connections at COTA so on a business trip down there we stopped at the track. Was pretty cool to see and walk out on track before an official race had even taken place. Would love to get down there for a race but I’ve heard traffic is an absolute nightmare, and Austin traffic is bad enough as it is.

I love watching the racing, the history, the tracks, and of cause, the GOAT (he goes by the initials LH) :giggle: But that said F1, the FIA, and Liberty Media are a freaking joke. I can’t believe I’m actually writing this, but maybe, just maybe we were better off with Bernie.

I really can't see this happening but he's made no secret that he'd be interested. but to go up against Charles who Ferrari have built the team around would be a big ask for anyone, even Vestappen or Norris. Sure it's just rumours.
