Even if we all agreed Masi made a bad call, a Championship isn't won or lost in the last race.
As they were even in points going into the last race, I believe your statement is contradictory.

And if this race and Hungary swapped places, Max would be going into the last race (Hungary) far ahead and still win by the same points despite a merc knocking Perez out and leaving Max damaged and limping home. And if that had happened, nobody would have been pulling out the torches and pitchforks when Lewis finished right behind Max in Abu Dhabi if it was many races ago under the exact same circumstances. We would grumble about the call, but not burst blood vessels.

I don’t think Mercs appeals will get anywhere. The FIA doesn’t like being told they’re wrong.

If something did change, here are some suggestions:

- make it a tie. Both Hamilton and Verstappen are the WDC as they were equal points going into Abu Dhabi.

- no WDC for 2021. No winners or losers this way.

- strip them both of their points and give it to 3rd place driver, Bottas.

- have an exhibition race. Both teams agree on a track. Both cars equally fueled. Same tires. 10 laps. Both cars start at the starting line, no grid. A coin toss to see who is on the left and right side of the track. If anyone crashes into the other, they forfeit. Winner becomes WDC.

Hello; Most of the season the uneven enforcement of the rules went against the RB. Those now complaining were satisfied anytime such happened. This last race at the end your guy did not get the full benefit from the rule's makers. In addition, he was put in the lead when racing restarted and was outrun on the track.
Here is another way to look at it. MB did not have to be in first place to get lewis the championship, just finish ahead of Max. MB could have come in to change tires same as anyone else. Guess they were accustomed to the stewards officials having their back the other times and wanted to have the win on top of the championship.

No, it's a done deal. Nothing is going to happen. Max is the champion and I'm OK with that. He deserves it. We will get #8 next year. :giggle:

Sorry Jeff, you're entire post is BS but let me just comment on this. The stewards had nothing, repeat nothing to do with this call. It was all Masi and he blew it. Disregarded the rules including one he decided on last year.

Hello; I did an edit to fix it.

Lewis Hamilton, Toto Wolff will not attend FIA prize-giving gala

“No, both of us won’t be there,” Wolff said. “And I won’t be there because of my loyalty to Lewis and because of my own personal integrity. But we will be represented as a team by James Allison
Lucky for them Mercedes has someone without any personal integrity to represent them. 🙄

Hello; sounds like sore losers to me.
It's amazing. And Toto is making the rounds telling anyone who will listen that he hopes Lewis doesn't leave F1 over this. Regardless of whether he stays or goes, if Lewis doesn't punch Toto in the face for that, I'll be disappointed in him.
