Make your own choice, the choice that meets your needs. Sleeving a gen2 block does not address the remaining issues that the iron block does. Not according to the gentleman in the video. Start at 6:37.

Very good reply.Make your own choice, the choice that meets your needs. Sleeving a gen2 block does not address the remaining issues that the iron block does.
Also sleeves seem to de-value an iron block. Like it's been hurt and repaired. Sleeve a coyote and it's the best! Nevermind the issues that may come along with a sleeved alum block.funny thing is, iron should be cheapers lol...
Iron may be a cheaper raw material but you have to factor in the R&D that went into this and that it will be a relatively low quantity product for ford. To me the price reflects how strong the block really is. Pretty crazy something with OEM RELIABILITY can handle low 7 high 6 second 1/4 mile horsepower levels (1500-2000hp).funny thing is, iron should be cheapers lol...
Exactly.funny thing is, iron should be cheapers lol...
I didn't notice that main caps were any thicker.Thicker main caps and new supports all throughout the block gonna make it a decent amount heavier but straight out of the box handle a lot of power
