It appears Ford are taking responsibility for all stock in the next few days, it appears only secondhand stock and property are in the Administrators hands. Fingers crossed a resolution is now in play, I'm in direct contact with the Ford team directly managing this.
I guess the key point is when does the dealer actually pay Ford for the car; when it takes delivery (unlikely, as several of us are not taking delivery as soon as the car is available), or when the car is actually delivered to a customer (maybe when it is registered..?) or maybe 7 days later, to allow the customer payment to be processed? Or just at the end of the month...?

But it does sound a bit more hopeful for you now...

So quick update to all. Believe you me we are being forceful! Gowrings as expected have washed their hands of it. To be fair Ford have their sleeves rolled up to sort out customers. Really hope you get this sorted! TBH its a shitty dealer not checking the car before delivery, especially so if he's had it for 3 weeks!

But didn't the dealer tell you that "your" car is in so that you can check it yourself?

So Ford delivered me a courtesy car today. Mondeo Vignale, its hideous!
However its brand new and the paperwork says its mine for 9 months  They haven't told me yet but sounds like they can't find an alternative car quickly.

The good news is Ford are paying my money back, promised in the bank in the next few days:clap2:

Interesting they haven't actually told me yet how the error happened but I think its a build issue rather than a dealer issue but I can't be sure.

So does the fact they're giving you the Vignale for up to 9 months, which is the approx. lead time on the Mustang, mean they're supplying (factory ordering) you with a new one of the correct specification?

So after being promised the money for a few days it finally arrived in my bank account yesterday, all paid back directly from Ford. What a saga. No cars are available built in my spec so looks like I'm in for a long wait if I reorder. I'm going to think about it at the weekend as we've waited 7 months already. If we bail I'm going to have a few bits for sale, the most expensive being a full Corsa Touring Cat Back (EU spec) with Chrome tips.

Feeling like I've lost something:crazy:

Might be a blessing in disguise as models after April should be cheaper tax over the long term or you could wait for the refresh model due 17/18.

When they screwed up my order after nearly 6 months they managed to convert a dealer demonstrator order which was already in the system to my specification. It was still a delay but only turned out to be 2 months later than the original car. There must be loads of dealer demonstrator orders in the system so they could do the same for you. I dealt with Stacey and Andy Barratt direct rather than with the dealer and they had a solution within a couple of days. I suggest you ask them to try harder of you want to avoid the full lead time of a new order, and of course at your original order price plus some sort of goodwill gesture for the inconvenience.

That's pretty funny.

Because I had the wrong car show up too but I wasn't especially picky so I didn't flame on the sales team too much. However, I remember thinking, some people would be really pissed about this but I wasn't married to gray I just thought it would be cool if it matched my Wrangler which in hind sight would probably have looked really pretentious.

1. My original order was for a gray base GT PP, which somehow got sold to somebody else before I got to it. I never got a straight answer about how that happened.

2. Then they found a black one in NOLA and shipped it over but when I showed up it had been sent to the wrong dealership.

3. They had a guy drive it down so I drove back out there and I picked it up with rain spray all over it. They were going to detail it but I told them I'd rather do it.

Besides the color difference the only other difference was the backup camera. I hadn't ordered that. The black on black has grown on me a lot, so I'm happy about the change. But the incompetence of the sales team was really impressive, even by Texas standards of performance.

Hmm, we have three cars and they're all roughly Magnetic, apart from the Stang which is actually Magnetic.

I have no imagination...

well, you had the imagination enough to stick to a particular color. I just said "anything but red or yellow"

Don't know what colour you are after, but I know of a V8 Fastback which is a cancelled order its in magnetic with custom pack, has dark saddle interior but it's a automatic, due in December, let me know if it's of interest.

Congratulations that quite a result. When the dealers told me mine had been crashed into pre delivery it was back to the start of the queue with no courtesy car. What did you do to get the VIP treatment?

Any suggestions AndyBarrrt on how dealers should compensate customers in this kind of situation as there appears to be no standard policy?
