When I was 19 and knew bugger all about cars as I was a biker, the lad I worked with would keep going on about his Ford Cortina Ghia.Bring back the Ghia trim! (yeah, I'm old and loved/love 80s Fords)![]()
Sorry to hear this mate, what did you order? So today was the big day, pick up arranged for 4.45 pm, taken care to ensure the car would be ready as I requested, no front plate fixed etc. GTechniq booked in for Monday, stripes ready etc etc.
Pulled into the dealership and saw two brand new Mustang Convertibles in the rain, one Red and one White. Quickly parked, salesman spotted us, big smile. Wifes heart pounding as its really her car, talking about being careful home in the wet.
Imagine our shock when we walked around the corner to admire our car when I immediately clocked black wheels. We ordered the custom pack so should be the bright wheels:frusty:
No worries I thought they can probably swap them, but what a pain, or maybe its not our car, but our plates in the window, confused, no reverse sensors!. Salesman comes bounding out with the keys, I immediately say its the wrong car
A few moments of debating, checking the Vin, opening boot, no shaker, he now panics, wife in tears, all hell breaks loose. We sit down in shock.:doh:
But the dealers had it three weeks, surely they checked.....?????Double check paper work, nope ordered, etis nope shows custom pack, ford bill to dealer includes the cost, manager of the dealer comes out and to be fair is very clear they have a major problem to address.
So Monday Ford UK have some explaining to do, my dealer is going to try and resolve but I fear we maybe waiting a number of months for the car to turn up. Just sold the misses one too bit of a mess. Going for a beer![]()

Dont worry about the heated seats, they arent very good, they take ages to warm up, and the cooling feature is just unpleasant. I would happily give them back and have ÂŁ600 back too.My car came without the ordered heated seats. In compensation dealer is giving first service for free. I had not found this forum & knew nothing about being able to follow the order process & the dealer did not say. If I had known I may have been able to spot it & correct error.
I bought a goatskin rug for the seat so its not as chilly on a freezing morning & should be cooler when the car has been sitting in full sun should we get any.
Sorry - I don't agree. The cooled seats are excellent on a really hot day; the heated seats are "just nice to have" on a really cold morning, in my view.Dont worry about the heated seats, they arent very good, they take ages to warm up, and the cooling feature is just unpleasant. I agree - like the heated seats and they seem to work quick enough unlike the rear window. Not really tried the cooling.Sorry - I don't agree. The cooled seats are excellent on a really hot day; the heated seats are "just nice to have" on a really cold morning, in my view.
Maybe mine are just a 'Ford Special' because it takes a good 10 minutes of them being on to be able to tell. My Jeep warm up almost immediately, and need to be turned down quite soon after before i start to cook, the Mustang i can almost forget are on full.I agree - like the heated seats and they seem to work quick enough unlike the rear window. Henry Ford doesn't appear to have had a middle name but if he had, it wouldn't have been Consistency... ;)Maybe mine are just a 'Ford Special' because it takes a good 10 minutes of them being on to be able to tell. Sounds like your rear window might be a 'Ford special' too as mine works quickly..........
My rear window is much like yours, clears streaks where the warmers are, but that's about it, takes a right mare of time to gt it all out, i end up blasting the middle 3 heaters at it on full and it clears quickHenry Ford doesn't appear to have had a middle name but if he had, it wouldn't have been Consistency... ;)
My seats certainly aren't immediate but after a few minutes they're warm. I suppose it could just have been the conditions I use my heated rear window in - the car is garaged so its de-misting rather than de-icing - but it ain't quick!
