has anybody actually dyno'd there car yet? -.-
I'm not sure you'll find people that get the FP tune in a hurry to have their car tested on a dyno. I think most that will go for this tune are looking more for the experience, driveability, dependability and warranty. Most will not be racing on the track or over the Internet with slips. Plus it's not cheap and why put the stress on the car? Sure we'd all like to know, just don't think anyone will be in a hurry to get it done. The person that does take it to the dyno probably got the wrong tune.

If I can find the time with everything going on I may take mine in just for kicks and giggles. Local shop works on all high end Euro cars like Porche, Ferrari etc. But they only charge $75 for a 3 baseline runs. It's not the money, it's the time, maybe at the end of the month...but I'd like to get the factory plugs back in before I go as I have a suspicion the RR14S are not optimal for the FP tune due to being more recessed and equivalent to 1.5 steps colder. Have some on order so we'll see.

Thanks Lion! I'm sure a lot of us would love to see that! That's a great rate for the dyno too!

Oh by the way, I talked to a guy at Ford Performance today and he said colder plugs weren't necessary with their tune. Now whether or not they would be beneficial, I think will depend on the climate you're in and how the vehicle is being used. For me, my car is driven spirited but not frequently full throttle and I'm in MD so I'll be sticking with the stock plugs unless I pull them at some point and it looks like they are getting too hot.

Order it from cjponyparts or levvitownford (whichever u can get a better deal, it will just come down to shipping) and have a ASE shop/dealer install for the warranty. I had a shop here in the tri-valley install it.

Order it by calling Steve Powell at Tasca Ford, I really don't think you'll get a better price. If I remember correctly, I think I paid $484 shipped to my door. Even if you plan on taking it to a local dealer to get it installed, it doesn't matter that you bought it from another dealer.

I have to give a call down to Juggernaut garage and see if they have a dyno. They're right near me and specialize in Coyote platform mustangs so I guess they must have access to one. I'd like to do a stock pull and one with the tune loaded.

They told me the same thing. They said in all of their testing they have not had any issues with the factory plugs. Even Livernois told me to use the stock plugs with their PCM software if I had issues with aftermarket plugs as that's what they tuned with nor did they have any issues with the OE plugs in any of their own testing.

There's more to it than heat range however. How deeply the plug protrudes into the chamber also affects timing, not just heat range. A more recessed plug simulates a timing retardation (lets keep the jokes to a minimum here).

There is a maximum timing which the PCM software will even allow under the most idea conditions, while I have no proof, it is my suspicion that the timing will be a bit more aggressive with the OE plugs than a recessed plug like the RR14S on the FP tune and I may be running slightly less effective timing than I could safely do. The RR14S plugs were a left over mod from before, never changed them back out which I should have.

I haven't checked them for fouling, so not sure if they are too cold or not, the OE plugs I ordered don't come until Monday so it'll have to wait a bit. I have come to understand that with the FP tune, the only area to really optimize from a hardware standpoint is cooling systems, to give the engine the most ideal operating conditions to maximize power.

FP said cooling system upgrades such as inter coolers / larger radiators or intakes (aka their intake) are fine to use with their software, but they recommended using OE or OE equivalent plugs.

Gearing is another area, if your running a manual, a 3.73 Torsen diff is worth the hassle if you can do it in your garage like I did. Found mine for $650 on e-bay believe it or not. The Torsen alone was worth it to me, but the 3.73 really helped the car launch and added some much needed pep from the 3.31 that was in there, tuned or not going from a 3.31 to a 3.73 was pretty noticeable.

WRX can hit 0-60 in 5.0 secs and a qtr at 13.8 . Im just dying to see FP numbers to see if the car can keep up with it.

Just received my Denso ITV22 plugs (pregapped) in the mail today, and they're going in tomorrow. I've seen opinions either way on OE versus colder plugs. I'll keep the OEs around just in case.

I would honestly be surprised if it did... maybe if the car had a great set of wheels. With another tune (and other mods), I'd say no problem though.

My thought is that the FP tune was made to create more power than factory and smooth things out... not be the fastest tune on the street.

The AWD animals are usually good for 0-100 because you can flat foot throttle and side step peddle and shoot off into the distance.
Much more than just likely you will give him a go or pull away if it was on a roll.
The new Golf R does 4.8 or something. Not worth comparing 0-100 to AWD hot hatches you will need nearly 100hp more to compete with that and as JTMAT said tires too.
And just for clarity, you 'could' get the EB near their figure with decent rubber and mild tune, but those guys will hit between 4.8 and 5.1 all day all night. Launch control and bye bye.

0-60 I can understand from the AWD and smaller car, but this tune should close in on that 13.8 mark 1/4 mile.

A Cobb stage 1 with tires can get mid 13's, no reason why the FP can get around the same numbers.
