I'm curious on this one. Sounds like a malfunctioning ignition driver module. Is your car an ecoboost? Sorry for the late response.

I have the Wheel and Interior Package on my 2016 GT. Is there any info out there on these wheels? The 2 fronts on mine look different from the rears. Like they were machined differently by whoever manufactures them. The spokes on the front wheels are visibly wider than the ones on the back. I started a thread on this, but I'm curious to see if there's any info you have access to. I do have a warranty claim submitted to Ford regarding this, but it's been at least 2 weeks and haven't heard anything yet.

Hey Agent_S550,

I got 3 questions since your taking questions :)

1) Do you know, or can you find out what module controls the drive modes? (Normal, Sport, Track & Wet/Snow) I've asked this in the DIY thread but not getting any answers, someone told me to look at the ABS but I dont see it there.

2) Is there any bulletin or complaint of the pro shaker subwoofer in the trunk making a sort of a squeaking noise when the bass is near max in the EQ? I noticed this and when I press down on the top of the lower panel of the subwoofer against the floor the noise stops, i took it to the dealer and they said lower the bass, I'm wondering if there isnt enough padding, or is just something I have to live with?

3) Has their been any complaints on people using bluetooth calling in their cars and having to raise the volume over 18-20 just so they can hear the other person? (Yes windows are closed). It seems I have to raise the volume to almost 25 just so I can hear the person speaking clearly. The rest of the volume to the other options are perfectly fine.

Hey Agent, are you aware of any fuel door issues? I know a few others and myself have had the issue where essentially the fuel door becomes loose, floppy, and misaligned. It feels like it should have two attachment points, but in my case, one became loose.

I made a video a little while ago to demonstrate what I'm talking about.

I generally get the creaking during the rebound for sure. It seems to get a little more noticeable when it's cold outside, or the car has been sitting for a day or two. If I've been driving it all day it doesn't seem to creak much.

I appreciate your help!

OrangeOne

I would say then it's an improperly preloaded suspension noise. Basically all of the pivot points need to be loosened up, greased, the retightened with the car on a drive on lift to make sure they're preloaded at ride height. It can cause some funky noises/driving characteristics.

I've had it at the Dealer a couple times and they say it's nothing worrying, so I've just kinda accepted it. However, if it's potentially something stupidly easy, I'm all about that. :p

Just this view?

Thanks, Agent

I'd have to play with it to really see but to me it's in that area. Somethings not seated or has play in it. Check the collar fitment around the shaft and see what it feels like. If I was nearby I'd say let me check it out but alas, I can't touch stuff on the internet :headbonk:

I would have to dig around in the PTS system to see. Since I worked in service more so, my parts access is limited. However, from a couple of experiences I know exactly what you're talking about. I'm not sure what happened or whether Ford went to a different mold/manufacturer but I've seen visible differences in wheels before. Claim's like this with Ford usually turn around in a day or so. If you haven't heard anything back, it's because your dealership is either afraid to call and tell you bad news, or they didn't submit anything. Ford's usually quick to approve/deny claims when you submit pictures. Which, did they take pictures to send to Ford?

Sure thing, Here you go buddy. This is straight out of Ford's manual. "The ABS and stability control systems are comprised of the following subsystems and features which assist the driver in maintaining control of the vehicle:

Anti-lock braking
EBD
Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
Hill start assist
Launch control
Line lock
Selectable drive mode
Supplemental braking assist
Supports adaptive cruise control
Supports collision avoidance
Traction control"

Not that I've heard of but I had a Focus ST personally that had a similar noise. My suggestion? Do the foam fill of the box and it'll solve a lottttt of problems and make it sound better. If you need a link to a how to let me know. It helps the sub clear up on the higher hits.

Actually I deal with this quite frequently on my 16'. I hate to say it but it's so spotty to diagnose as it's dependent upon the phone, the phones volume, the signal strength of the phone, the network its on, then of course all of the same variables for the person on the other side of the phone as well. I would simply make sure your bluetooth volume is up on your end. I usually have my call volume at about 20 to hear people. Its annoying, I know. I've never seen an APIM update take care of this. It's a pretty generic issue across almost all Ford sync systems.

Oh boy. You have exactly what everyone else has dealt with. Lets hope for your sake the tabs haven't broken. If they haven't then you're in luck as you don't have to get a new one and have it painted! It's a common problem on newer fords. The F150 is the biggest offender on this. It's plenty fixable and not too terrible. Just be prepared if the dealer says "So you need a new door and it has to be painted.."

Well, the actual painted part seems fine. From what I can tell it just pops off the arm mechanism that swings out. It's the fuel door arm itself that has a lot of play.

But yea, I know I'm gonna have to take it to the dealer. I'm hoping to get it taken care of whenever I do the door latch recall.

In some cases they have to replace the whole mechanism and not just the door. Just a heads up. F150's they sell the whole unit. But best of luck buddy!

I'm inclined to say it's the module that controls the hvac. You're probably not getting completely open cold completely closed hot on the blend door. Add in the blower motor issues I am convinced it's a body module that's given up. Or possibly the panel. Which I haven't seen happen that often on mustangs
Update: A long shot but I decided to disconnect the battery in case any of those components had a bad bit set or something.

It worked! The AC is working normally now.

Of course whatever caused it to malfunction the first time might still be waiting to happen again.

1) If I'm reading this right, it's ABS module? I see no change in this module when selecting driving modes.

2) Yes I would appreciate a link.

3) ATT with an HTC one Max at max volume, everything else at a volume of 20 is loud enough, except talking. The only thing I can think of that the sound is low is probably for noise cancellation, they probably have a cheap mic and anything too loud it cant handle.

1) Correct. I think the ABS is the hub of which the selectable modes functions. Now I'm not sure how far it runs down. Unless it uses it's own internal functions that you simply send signal to that allows it to function as such.

3)Ah that makes sense. Android's have more problems than iPhones. Must be the microsoft in sync coming back in revenge :ninja: You don't have speed volume on do you?

Well the only thing I can think of when I was trying to track this, I wasnt looking for the split second change, but looking at the code change once it was selected, I thought after making the change and taking a snapshot so to speak I would see the code change, but if the code is changing only to send the signal and goes back it wont catch that. What I am trying to find is the module that has the setting set to. Need to find where the Selectable Drive Mode is kept, UNLESS this is a setting only kept in VRAM, then I'll never find it. But the default setting STILL has to be stored somwhere.

Thanks for the link, I'll read through it later, hopefully it solves the squeak problem.

As far as I know Android does not use MS sync, and neither does the QNX OS, I could be wrong, but I also dont have an IPhone so I couldnt tell say if the same thing happens with an IPhone, my guess is it would. Speed volume? Not sure, I have to look into that, But as far as I know that controls volume level to increase with speed, not decrease, unless I am thinking something else.

Yep. Sounds like a module to me buddy. Hopefully it's alright. Sometimes they really do just need a hard reset.

I meant Sync tends to be more glitchy and finicky with androids bc the availability of different hardware and handsets.

I think you have my email. Shoot me an email later when I'm home and I get the wiring schematic for off the back of the HVAC panel module that has the toggle switches in it.
