I just wanted to say.. the bluetooth in my car worked for about 3 weeks when I first got it.. it stopped playing in the middle of a song and now connects/disconnects continuously.. damn you Sync!!! Damn you to hell!!!

Yes yes I know, most guys say disconnect the battery, but my car hasn't had first service yet and I don't want any funny looks when I take it in and they go "oh well the ECU has been recently reset.." or whatever, especially considering I got suckered into getting the extended warranty.

would that cause a problem? Seems rather harmless.

are extended warranties refundable ?

To anyone that believes these rankings I want to offer my ice fishing spot for sale in May. If you read into these stories they are taking into account electronics such as Ford Sync. A lot of people are not happy with Ford Sync but what does a complaint about Sync have to do with the depedability of a vehicle? In my opinion dependability deals with power train, engine, and even electronics. A complaint about how fast Sync responds or how tough it is to maneuver through is not a dependability issue. I have Ford Sync in all three of my vehicles and have no complaints. People have become to lazy to figure out a system like Sync and if they can't figure it out instantly they bitch about it.

I am less concerned about reliability than I am fast repairs. Dealers taking a long time to do a tear down and diagnosis, and then there is further delay with "backorder".

Any data out there for MTTR (mean time to repair) ?

Well being that all the experts here keep telling me there's something wrong with my car because they can "easily" get 20+ mpg in the city even driving "hard" I will ask that they do a diagnostic see if anything is out of the ordinary and thus I don't want any bs concerning them pointing the finger at me suspecting an aftermarket tune or something, especially since my car is stock.

I really doubt they will confuse a battery disconnect with an aftermarket tune

What is your highway MPG ?

While "dependability" is a bit of a subjective term I feel the rating is fair enough. How many years have Ford owners been languished with this inferior Sync system? Had many people have had to go to service centers repeatedly for Sync issues? Does anyone know of any other brand that had to setup an entire dedicated "Start" team in their dealership network just to help people understand how to operate their infotainment system?? Ford had to offer to buy back some Lincoln's because of problems with it.

Every time I start my car and have to toggle through the functions just to be able to listen to my iPod, 1-2 times a month my entire sync system ceases function entirely(no radio, no bluetooth, nothing)for periods of time, and I often can't do anything but listen to radio as my system refuses to respond to anything.

None of this stopped me from buying the car, but as an owner I've never been more annoyed and disappointed in the operation of an infotainment system in any car I've owned. As soon as my warranty is up the system will be replaced, maybe beforehand.

Sync 3 seems to show promise being QNX based but only time will tell.

You'd think after all these years Ford would have learned and gone onto something else.

Consumer reports gave Ford Mustang a score of 54! Which is really really bad. The body panel allignment issues might cause that! I ve never seen this problem on any other car! Went for a oil change yesterday and checked out the 2016's on the lot, 90% of them had body panel allignment issues! If Ford doesn't step up their qc our cars are going to worth nothing in couple of years!

they need to break these ratings down by model and type of defect.

Consumer Reports rates Mustang a Poor for predicted reliability:

"Based on the latest survey, we expect reliability of new models will be 48% below average

But if you look at their "17 potential trouble spots, ranging from the engine, transmission, and brakes to power equipment and the electrical system ...

nearly all of them are solid Red Circles (Excellent), with the exception of Body Integrity, which gets a white circle (Good).

So their data is inconsistent.

C.R. rates Mustang Excellent for Owner Satisfaction.

when i think dependable i think "when i push this button that says start, will it start and drive or am i stuck out here in the desert completely screwed"

not " when i push this button will my radio work correctly"

I would also like to see data on how fast warranty repairs get made. Some car manufacturers better than others?
