So I dropped one of my fobs just right and now the case can be closed but after sitting in my pocket for a while will inevitably work its way loose again. I’m using the other fob but I’d sure like to replace just the case on this one. Has anyone done this? Internet searches have not surfaced anything yet. Looks like the OEM fob is discontinued (2017) and I don’t need the whole think anyway. Would one of those fob covers I see advertised keep the case halves together?

I don’t know of anyone who makes a specific cover for the GT350.
I originally bought a carbon fiber cover that is actually quite nice. Doesn’t work well, I guess the CF blocks the signal.

The cost of the Shelby Fobs is disgusting. I was able to pick up an extra one for cheap and swap over the internals. Couple years ago Ford quoted me $430 for a new Fob.

I've looked at covers before but couldn't find anything that wasn't bulky or tacky.

Thanks, but the fob internals are fine. I hate to spend that kind of $$$ for just a cracked case.

You can get FOB shells on Amazon for your model. Just swap the "guts" of the old FOB to the new one.

After the tire shop scratched mine up I bought a couple of these cheap ones. They stay on well.

There’s a lot of different ones on Amazon to choose from.

I’ve never thought the design of our FOBs was so smart. The buttons should be recessed. I can bend over with it in my pocket and trigger the panic button. Not only that, they are vulnerable to damage.

Is this what you were hoping to locate ...

Note that this is ONLY a 4-button remote and it is pricey ($170). If you have the remote start you can inquire with the merchant if they offer a 5-button version. Or you can transfer the electronics from your case, buy a cheap 5-button case only and use the 5-button cover, then mix & match.

For $430 (what the dealer quoted me for a Shelby Fob) they ought to be able to withstand a bunker buster or a raging fire and work flawlessly. They're way too flimsy for what they are. The key to a car shouldn't cost nearly that much. And I'm not really a fan of the remote keys anyway, my PATS key for my Toyota is perfectly fine.

That $430 I assume includes the internals and whatever time to reprogram the new fob? Either way it’s highway robbery. And I LOL’d at your bunker buster comment. I do feel like the 18+ fobs were designed a little better than the 15-17.

I bought my car used. At the sale, dealer committed to getting me a second FOB, (only had one) but like most people I work for a living and they outsourced the programming to a guy who comes around once a week (and never after 5:00 p.m. and never on weekends). To get over to the dealership with enough time to do the programming would basically make me take PTO during a workday. So I just said screw it, I'll just buy another one from Ford. Called the parts department and almost spit out my drink. $390 for a mustang emblem (GT) and $430 for a Shelby emblem FOB. (apparently, it's $50 more expensive to make a Snake instead of a running horse). Finally got around to getting my second FOB from the dealer. Two months later, I found the second FOB underneath the seat. So I had 3. One broke the D ring and I was able to scoop up a factory Shelby Fob for $100 and swap the guts. So now I have 4, 3 working and one spare parts.

Wow! Not surprised at how much Ford charges for these things but it’s nuts (and the extra $50 for the snake is dumb too). And that seems ridiculous to me that they don’t have anyone that can program a key fob on a weekend or after 5:00. Most people that work can’t (or don’t want to have to) burn a PTO day for something that probably takes 15 minutes to do. I’d ditch that dealer for sure. At least you have a spare spare and a parts fob too.
