When they gave you the $3500 for the Mustang damages, you didn't sign a release form stating to the effect that you settled and release the Ins. Co. from any additional claims if the needed repairs are found to be more costly than what they paid out... did ya?

I hope not...

What I hate to see is a garage full of junk and a nice car getting pelted with hail.

Nope, they use an adjustment form. I doubt they will keep the hood, everyone thinks it will get replaced.

As far as the garage full of junk, well, small house, 20 years, it needs an enema.

it is not common practice to have "releases" on first part claims. the policy is a contract between you and the insurance company that outlines the obligations. there is no liability so nothing to release anyone from.

Well...PDR is a kewl science....

They couldn't save the hood, so that is going to be new. So they had to shoot the fenders, new hood, and bumper cover. Hope it all matches up O.K..
Also, I did a DIY 3M pro clear bra, and their vendor only does Expel. I hope it is as good, but I'll bet the application is better....:D
I kinda like the 5.0 delete, maybe should have talked to them about that......
So far they are up to about 8K I think.

If this body shop couldn't order the correct fenders for your GT, I wonder what their attention to detail was regarding the rest of the repair work that was performed...8k worth.
Just saying...

Same fenders, they did not get replaced, only painted. To do that, they removed the 5.0. I kinda like the look without it though. I'm stuck with it as there are two holes for the mounting pins. A little fill and could have had them go away. Oh well.

Very sorry you're having to go through this with your sweet Mustang, but it might be time to clear out the garage.

Funny so many are concerned about my garage!

If I had a basement, or a bigger house, or whatever, wouldn't be as tough. I have lived in this house for 24 years and raised a family in it. I own 4 decent cars, a great boat, two kids in college, and take great vacations while building up a sizeable nest egg. I did this by living in a small raised ranch with no basement and a single car garage. You make choices in life, and that's what happened.

My mustang and motorcycle already live in my garage, but the garage still needs a massive enema (the house as well). I feel your pain. Collecting all this stuff for the past 20 years and it really adds up. I guess I'll have to build a giant shed in the back yard...

I worry about my wife's car being parked out in the driveway, although we rarely get big enough hail to result in that level of damage. Her car isn't as new or sexy as the S550, but it is still a nice ride and would be quite costly to repair / replace.

Problem is (and this is likely why I haven't done anything about it yet) that even after a complete purge of the garage, I would still have to find a new home for the tool chests, air compressor, and welder just so she could have enough length to park with about 6" of space front and rear. She would have to park then exit and go around the back of the vehicle before closing the garage door or she would get trapped and have to slide over and through the passenger door.

HOWEVER, back when she drove a smaller vehicle and we both parked in the garage the kids were never careful enough to not let her doors beat the crap out of my doors. Now that the Mustang is in there that is absolutely unacceptable. Not even by "accident". I'll have to hang a swimming pool air mattress or something from the ceiling between the cars to act as a soft bumper.

I'm glad they are getting your car sorted though. Sucks to be without it for so long...
