Picked up the new Gt500 and its needs washed to get the bugs off. Normally I wouldn't be too concerned except the stripes look really soft. The dealer did wash it, I wasn't pleased but there are already a few light scratches in the kona blue stripes, I assume from drying. I think they will come out during paint correction. My PPF/ceramic place can't get me in for a month yet and i'm wondering if there are any tricks to keeping the stripes from scratching while washing and drying. I've got a foam cannon, the 2 buckets, and planned on drying it with the blower. The only drying aid i have if I have to use a micro fiber/drying towel to dry is Mequires detailing spray.

Weazer: The vinyl is tougher than you think. Just wash the car with good soap, good MF towels, and the leaf blower to dry. You'll be fine, especially if your shop plans to do paint correction. The vinyl will get polished right alongside the painted parts. Any marks or stains in it short of a cut, will almost certainly disappear.

The worst enemy of vinyl is the good old sun and it can do far more damage than you can yourself, within limits of course. So, go for it!

Just curious...as someone who grew up in Ohio, I'm wondering where you might be?

Far NW corner, just about 3 miles from the Indiana line. I grew up here and the wife grew up in Cleveland.

Use a vinyl coating like Carpro Skin to keep those stripes looking good. Even just a few months in the sun with no protection and those stripes will fade
