The extended 5 year warranty is from Ford, called Ford Protect or something. I paid £540, no brainier I thought - more expensive now. It was in black and white in the price list and discussed on this forum. I had to prompt the dealer on this, he didn't raise it with me.

I must admit my sales guy was on the ball he did say if you don't do it on registration you cant add to it because I said id just extended mine on the Audi after 3 years he said its pre reg deal only I think it was 500 quid ish but wasn't sure if you could do it after three years and it might be just sales pitch to get you to sign up ,but as I plan to keep car anyway I just did the deal .Was cheeper than Audi tho which is about 500 quid a year for whole car cover .
Just a small note tho guys interior trim isn't covered and is classed as wear and tear and is only generally covered for 1 year and that's from new !

Had mine MOTd back in November. All went well, apart from front tyres. Roush axle back, front tri bars with sequential flashes all no issue.

My car failed and not on noise or emissions :crying:

2 shredded front tyres (although only 1 failed), I knew there was a slight camber from the spacers but they were fine last summer
Custom plate - I forgot to swap them out
None standard exhaust was an advisory lol
A sensor wire on the drivers side is touching the cat and was an advisory as it could melt - just needs a cable tie
oh and i noticed a light coolant leak, probably from when I changed the rad and hosing last summer but didn't affect the MOT.

That is EXACTLY what mine failed with on Tuesday, although I'll have done a good few less miles than you! Offside? And my car was serviced last Friday. Car now laid up waiting on the part which is apparently on back-order.

so my 2003 Volvo s60D5 failed its MOT on front bottom ball joint wear this year. Thats a 16 yr old car with 113,000 miles, a heavy Diesel engine and front drive.
Of course on a front drive car you know they are failing because you get a clonk when pulling away.
Its worrying that ford ball joints appear to be kaput after 3 yrs and 1/6 of that milage.

Could the ball joint wear be down to any mods? Had my MOT and didn't have this problem

I would kinda have expected the other side to be at least an advisory. Oh well, that'll maybe be next years failure.
