Well, I got that 1st dent out of the way at work last Thursday. Kids were walking the Souderton train tracks behind the office at lunchtime and throwing big rocks from the tracks up and over the trees into the parking lot below, and smashed my windshield in about 3/16" deep, pushing it 1/16" through the back side of the glass into the interior. Could have been worse, I guess, given that the rock would probably have ripped all the way through the aluminum hood, and windshield glass can be popped in and out in under an hour.

FYI, glass replacement shops can only get the 2015 windshields with ponies on them from their regular suppliers. Windshields with the Ford Oval logo like the ones that come on the car have to be ordered through Ford Parts, and they estimated it's going to take at least a week to come in.

Car's really not drivable this way, so I'm stuck waiting it out during prime spring fever season. Life sucks sometimes.

That does suck. You seem to be handling it well (nice to see). I'm not sure putting kids in the hospital would help the situation.

At the minimum have them (or their parents) pay for the damage. Curious too if the got caught... Would've called cops probably as the second you touch the kid, you'll be a child abuser.

Talk to them? In the late 60's before the media had the attitude of sitting down with kids and having a talk about why they did that. My dad would have handed my ass to me.

Catch the kids? Are the kids in the hospital? If not, why not?
Zero info on identities - just 3 skinny kids in gray hoodies that someone saw at a distance out of a window. So no real chance of catching them, unless someone rats them out — we have feelers out on Facebook (a friend from work has kids in the school, and sent a message around to the other moms).

Update on ETA for the windshield - it takes 7-10 "working" days until it arrives from the dealer (I missed the word "working"), so next Wednesday for my install at the earliest, the following Monday if my luck stays bad.

We have glass coverage in Mass, but speaking with my dealer (because I wanted factory glass) he said because the car is new I would end up with factory glass. Your time frame sounds about right for what I was told. I haven't gotten around to getting mine replaced. It adds character, not as much as your's LOL.

Seriously considering this from Watson:

It's not like anyone would know the difference. At least it would be shatter proof :paddle:

Dang, hopefully it didn't get any of your paint too (rolling off).

Good thing the kids weren't there, because......yeah I would have lost my marbles. Angers me just looking at this picture.
