Ive been reading they the sidewall is quite soft on them, which is good for comfort, but not ideal when pushed on a road course.

I do track the car, and while one tire "cannot do it all" I am not competing, and would like to retain the 'drive up, track, drive home' convenience.

Competition Orange has a good amount of experience with them on road and track alike.

Yep, he could be running the P Zero Neros. Although I'm on track to get about 25k from the front P Zeros but nowhere near 31k from the rears.
Nope not the neros

Stock premium tires were Pirelli p zero summer tires

https://www.pirelli.com/tires/en-us/car-light-truck/find-your-tires/product-sheet/pzero#

They were holding well last I looked a couple months back though I knew I needed tires soon. Then last week I was walking up to my car from behind and couldn't believe right rear was damn near slicks so ordered tires

Edit: only 3 made out if being honest. I smacked unknown debris at 80 mph and blew the sidewall on one

Now that I think of it, tire shop called me back to look at one of my wheels. Had a lot of weight, I think he said 2 ounces?, and was wobbly looking on the balancer. He said it'd be fine but gave me info of who to contact to fix if I decide to. I've never noticed vibrations and have had her up to speed a few times.

I'm wondering if that's the wheel I smacked? They weren't sure which wheel it was as they'd already had them off.

I hope it's not the same one as I had taken car to one of the local Ford dealers to get looked at and any needed repairs and this was never mentioned.

How in the hell did you get P-Zero's to last 31k miles?!?!

If you don't drive it like you should...

I know someone else who got 22k out of his rears and I was shocked by that.

Sorry I don't drag race every time I leave a stop light...

Also I'm sure the percentage of hwy miles helps

My last truck I had nitto trail grapplers which are fairly aggressive mud tires and was above average tread life after 25k miles compared to most

I got MAYBE 15K miles out of my P Zero Nero All Seasons. That is.. before grip was severely hampered. And I didn’t drive it hard. There’s no way I could have gotten 30K miles out of them.

The Firehawks are holding their tread much better and grip better in the warm, in the cold, in the dry, and in the wet.

Having 20 inch wheels should increase tread life, but more importantly the ability to rotate is significant.

Also keep in mind, many keep their tires on long past what is considered legal.

That's the other bizarre thing. I never rotated them, not once.

I kinda meant to start a thread on that a while ago. Is it still important to rotate if you're getting even wear? I checked every month or so with a gauge and they were always even or within 1/32nd

I didn't really care if these went early as I wanted new tires but they lasted longer than I would've thought

My mud tires I religiously rotated. Every oil change. My all terrains before that, maybe every 10 or 15k.

I don't know maybe I got a weird set? I don't know what's illegal in TX but I know 3 of 4 were above wear bars and the right rear was just getting in to them

They do have a softer sidewall but you'll be 100% fine on any road course with them. They're predictable and reasonably quick, but will get hot be more of a handful after about 12-15 minutes in your session.

I have 3-4 track days on them, 12-15k street miles and countless autocrosses and they still have tread left. I love these tires, not a better all around summer tire for even 50% more than these things cost.

They're not the fastest tire, but as I've said in multiple threads about this, nobody is "fast" on street tires.

Competition Orange has a good amount of experience with them on road and track alike.
Until something better comes around, I won't be buying anything else for street and warmup track tires. Love them.

So Emt1581, how are they for you?
Finally installed them today...

The SVE Drifts and Firehawks look great!!!

I torqued them down to 150 and then hit the road for a short drive just to test them out. It is about 40 degrees here today which is about the coldest they'll see. These things are definitely better performers than the P-Zero's. Whereas the P-Zero's were sliding all over the place in similar temps, the Firehawks stayed planted. They made 50-0 stopped without ANY sliding. I didn't peel out but I also didn't notice any wheel hop at stop lights. When going into curves I have never pushed the car close to it's limits because I've always been worried about the ass end sliding me side-ways. But I did give it a little extra gas going into curves. Again, no sliding at all.

Once the roads warm up, I'll push them a bit and I can only imagine they'll do beautifully and ask for more.

Very happy with them so far!! :clap2:

And they do it without being loud, harsh or wearing badly.

Right...well the loud/harsh part.

These were noticeably quieter than my P-Zero's or at least that was my perspective when driving. I'm usually listening to my driving mix anyway. Everything from Sam the Sham to the Doors to Queen, Johnny Cash, Ozzie, etc. Really diverse 200 songs or so but all 100% excellent for driving. Anyway, my main concern from here on is not having drone from whatever exhaust I go with...most like an SLP LM2 axle back.

Not sure if it was, again, just my perception, but I could swear these also steered a lot smoother and felt more direct/responsive. But not a harsh ride at all. Smooth and really enjoyable!

I've heard the LM2. Sounds good, very deep but it did drone a little. The bass notes pass through all the sound deadening easily.

So far what I've read about these tires is all good. The only thing I've seen difficult is the actual width and aspect ratio combos for different wheel diameters. Their site has more combinations than TireRack for example.
