I get it man its all good! 2.3 is awesome and I hope in the future it opens up the doors for the 2.7L V6 EB. When that day comes I will consider an EB.

After getting your LE how would you even consider a 2.7 EcoBoost? Second car?

I'm not fond of the 'stage' verbiage. It seems there's no clear definition of what each 'stage' is. I prefer just listing the modifications performed. Seems like it's an attempt to make talking about changes easier, but if different companies define their 'stages' differently, then a person has to explain the differences anyway. Just seems to complicate something that is really simple in the first place.

I had a solid 10-20 minute argument with a friend of mine who was adamant that stages had a universal standard. I told him that they're nothing but some marketing labels that vary with the individual company. We never got to the bottom of it. :(

After seeing all the hate from the Mustang enthusiasts over the EB Mustang I can't imagine how bad the backlash would be if they did a v6 EB that would rival the V8's HP numbers. Half of the Mustang enthusiast Population would kill themselves complaining about how it sounds.

If they put the 3.5L ecoboost in a mustang that will definitely rival the 5.0. I would trade my 2.3 in just to get it. But I highly doubt the would do it.

It's kind of a valid complaint though. The habitual topic of crying for the M3/M4 is how the move to F/I killed the noise and rev happy nature. I'm not one to bitch about it but the point is that it's not just a concern with the EB. It's the aspects of downsizing and turbocharging in general.

Honestly? I don't get it. Maybe my lack of understanding. People don't like "Stages" of the EcoBoost like
EcoBoost ruined us ...
...only a V8 should be in a Mustang...
How do you guys call it if a 5.0 Mustang is getting a CAI and a tune? "V8 CAI tune 1"? How about CAI, tune and exhaust? "V8 -3" And what you guys call it if a 5.0 gets a charger? "V8 plus X"

Come on guys! Because it is a EB engine you can't understand that people like to make changes like "V8 guys"?

This shows "how open minded" some people are.
Sorry! :tsk:

It's a Mustang and we are a Mustang community. Who gives a damn why someone chooses something I wouldn't choose. I say good luck with and be happy with your decisions.

I have owned only GT Mustangs but having researched a Focus ST I am familiar with "Stages". Not really sure what people's problem is with the term

I like all the engines. They are all impressive in their own way and they all have a place in the pecking order.

The thing that is getting annoying on this forum is this.

*opinionated V8 owner* "V8 or nothing everything else sucks"

*EB owner* "Hey guys we are all Mustang owners lets stop the bashing already"

*EB owner in a EB thread about mods or mpg* "those GTs are such a waste I can mod my EB to near GT levels while getting superior gas mileage. Who needs a overpriced GT"

The Hypocrisy on this forum is terrible and people really play the victim card often.

If a GT owner doesn't like the EB and they voice their opinion then oh well the world isn't all roses and buttercups. When you need to lash back/ defend then you're trying to convince yourself.

Just food for thought. I'm sick of the bickering and petty arguments.

Off soap box.

Ps. Wilkinda this wasn't targeted at you.

It's the same everywhere. People will justify their purchase and look for validation. GT owners will cling to the heritage and the sound, EB owners will cling to the cost/gas and the mods/cost efficiency.

The issue is when one side puts down the other, as the GT people typically do with saying that an I4 doesn't belong in a mustang and that the I4 sounds like trash. The EB people typically say the GT is a waste of money and the EB can compete with the GT with mods and still have cash to spare. Both sides have legitimacy, and that's why there is a debate to be made. The debate however turns into an argument, because people don't like hearing their 25000+ purchase is invalid or wrong. Just don't even participate when the thread goes to that, as no one will actually listen to either side and no progress or debate will continue.

I'll be the first to admit that I'd have bought a GT over an EcoBoost if I felt able/willing to spend the extra money.

But the EcoBoost is great in its own right.

I'd have one as a sunny day/weekend toy, but I can't do another V8 as a daily. The drone gets to me now during city driving, and there isn't a great active exhaust system available so I'll take the I4 tuner car instead.
