I received 42,000 points on my 2020 Explorer (leased) and 42,000 when I financed my 21 GT/CS....just got notice that i'm now a Silver Ford Pass rewards member. 10 points per $ spent on Ford S3ervice + 5% bonus on points earned. I've only been using the points for service.
Bob, are you gonna let them pick up your car for service and bring it back? It’s free with FordPass. :cwl:
Seriously ,it’s a great program. I NEVER pay for an oil change.

Bought the Mustang last May… never knew how the FordPass point system worked until last week on FB after seeing someone ask what to redeem their points on. Guess I never thought to look into it, and I do all the maintenance on the car myself so I assumed it was only for quick lane services. Long story short, went to the dealership and got 10 quarts of oil and a filter for $55. Still have like $150 in points to use on whatever I want! Anyone else out there with points or who has recently bought a vehicle from Ford, make sure you make a FordPass account and take advantage of the points you have! I believe they do expire after awhile if they aren’t used.
I got a free battery for my other vehicle, and still have some points to use up. Battery would have cost me $160. It helps that I paid cash for the Stang...Got lots of points..

On my first oil change 6-1 oil leaked onto my floor for 2 days. Also was charged 17,880 points to my fordpass rewards while I had paid for Carefree main. including 9 changes. Brought it to the attention of Dakota in service, nothing was corrected. Second change on 10-28 again told him and showed him my Carefree contract GA-1650156, still not corrected. They also did not complete the multi-point inspection. Called fordpass customer service 2 times, was told the dealer had to correct it. Told them I went to Dakota 2 times and they failed to correct it. Carol told me to call 800-392-3673. What a run around and waste of my time!

What did you pay for your oil if you don’t mind me asking? I got the synthetic blend for $4.85 a quart. They wanted over $9 a quart for full synthetic at multiple dealerships here where I live.
why does the motor company insist on blend, when full is clearly better??

I'm still waiting for Ford to restock the oil slick purple air design parts so I can buy them for my car. Unfortunately they have been out of stock for some time.
What is "oil slick purple air design parts"??

That’s why I do my own maintenance. I’ll buy the parts from them for free using points and do the maintenance for free myself lol

Engine won’t know a difference. My car is daily driven, if I was racing or tracking the car I’d definitely use a full synthetic. But for my daily routine a blend is definitely up to the task. I change my oil at 5k miles anyway so it’s not like I take advantage of the FS being able to be run longer. But once I’m out of points and go back to buying my own oil I definitely buy full synthetic. It cost the same or sometimes cheaper than the MC semi-syn. But you can’t beat free oil changes.

Don t remember, it was the blend, and it was more money for the exact oil and filter Walmart carries. But I considered it free, LOL.

My guess, is to keep the oil change price low enough that customers bring the vehicle into the dealer to have it done. Remember ford only has a 3y 36k mile warranty so they only care that it makes it that far.
That said, When I take the truck in, it gets full syn. But I can see customers barking at 100.00 oil changes in vehicles that take 5-6 qt's and 200+ on the 10 qt v8's and going elsewhere, So they have the blend as most people cross shop by price, the general public doesn't know better so, to them oil is oil.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever heard of a car having an engine failure as a result of using a synthetic blend instead of full syn? Did cars only make it to 36k or 60k back in the day before “full” synthetics were easily available and accessible and everyone was running around on conventional?

Nope, but also never looked into it.
I just think they offer the "blend" to keep the oil change cost/price down. nothing more.
I have them put full syn. in as I don't see the point of not going full syn. The 25 bucks extra to have them do the "works oil change" with the full syn. over the blend just is a non issue for me. We tend to keep vehicles 15+ years. So. will the full syn. make a difference over a lifetime of using the blend. No idea. but The truck the new one replaced that we got 390 thousand miles out of the 4.0 v6 using mobil 1 from day one. I'll spend the 25 bucks every oil change.
The mustang oil changes I do at home. the truck because of the dealer doubling the factory warranty if they service it, Is the only reason they do it.

I gotcha, can’t go wrong with either one. Over on BITOG there’s people who have taken Ford engines to 300-400k on the blend only. Obviously plenty of others who have used full syn with the same end result. I think the MC blend is overpriced for what it is, but it’s still good oil. At the current price point of the MC blend, it doesn’t make sense to get it when you can get a full syn for the same or cheaper. But some people prefer Motorcraft in their Ford engines. I think the more important factor is timely oil changes and maintenance. I’ll take a blend changed every 5k over a full syn that’s ran 8-10k but that’s just me. To each his own.

Ya, We still change the oil at 5k. No matter what the full syn. will go, or what the vehicle oil life thing states.
But ya, engine life has a lot to do with care.
The blend to me just seems like going to the parts store grabing 6qt's the full syn. then cheaping out, and putting 3 qt back and grabing 3 qts of store brand dino oil to save 10 bucks.
At the end of the day does it matter, I don't know.
I've had vehicles that went 350-400k on dino oil and the cheapest, whatever was on sale at the time oil. So. who knows.
