Self install is a bitch fyi. There is a bolt JUST above the tranny that is horrible coming out and worse going back in. Had to use a 10mm ratcheting box wrench and a buddy pulling down on the drive shaft just to get to it. Had to find a micro 10mm wrench to tighten it back in later, as the control arms leave absolutely no room to tighten back in on the GT.

Was this the old version or the new? They say the new is easier. I've got some big mitts so this is going to be fun. I suppose I'll save the install for the weekend incase I leave myself stranded

That is going to be with all shifters. It would be helpful to have small hands for that bolt lol.

definately have a 10mm ratcheting wrench for this, huge time saver. Heck have a set of them because they are so helpful for car work

I had George put mine on. Install took him 45 minutes max, and I know for sure it was done right to begin with. Well worth the 3 hr round-trip drive. You could even see the knobs there in person if you're on the fence. I almost pulled the trigger on the weighted pony knob, but I like the OEM knob. Awesome upgrade and awesome company!

I've been looking at the custom knobs from latheworks. They have solid 1 pound stainless knobs that are laser etched. Probably what I will do to finish it off.

I have a stainless steel one from him and it's AWESOME. I totally vouch for his work.

I would, im not TOO far. But I think I can do the install myself in the less than 6+hr round trip it would take to get there and back. Not to include install time and waiting for a day on the weekend I can actually get in there. Im sure i'll be cursing the entire time. Is everything included in the kit? Im not going to have to buy any specialty tools or anything am I? The shifter should be at my door tonight :)

Yeah everything but the tools are included. George is an awesome guy, it's worth the trip just to check out his Boss 302S! And he just picked up a Shelby!!

You get a pick to hammer out a pin on the original shifter, some NVH tape and heat shields. Everything else is on you.

The new version is easier to drop down the top of the hole where the old shifter was, but much of the core install process is still the same.

Am 90% of the way decided toward buying an MGW.
Anyone know how it effects transmission warranty? Wondering about that, and finding a good installer is about all that still has me partially on the fence.

Oh - does the MGW6G2015 forum discount code still work ?

As far as warranty? No clue. But if you message the MGW guy on this site, he'll give you a coupon code.
