Can anyone circle back to my question around why not use Fidelity for an extended warranty?
Most 3rd party warranties have major loopholes and gaps in coverage that make them virtually worthless when it comes to a major expense. Maybe Fidelity is better, maybe not. You need to read all the small print and decide for yourself.

How much were folks Ford ESPs on GT350s? Especially if any 2017s out there...

Stephen, every car is different especially “used” cars. It also depends on the length, mileage & deductible. If you want real numbers you need to contact an ESP seller (Flood, Ziegler) and discuss it with them.
But….. as an idea

I punched in 2017 GT350 with 15000 miles.

I had to fudge this as they will not do an online quote for cars over 41 month old.
How long has it been since your vehicle was originally purchased new?
Under 12 months old(after 10/19/2020)
Under 36 months old(after 10/19/2018)
Over 36 months but under 41 months old(between 05/19/2018 and 10/19/2018)
Over 41 months old(before 05/19/2018 )

This is only for the PremiumCare. You can do this if you want to see other plans.

So you buy a 10 year Flood Ford ESP and the date it starts is when the vehicle was purchased new. New Mustangs have a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty. For 3 years you have a "double" warranty, so really what your paying for is a 7 year warranty after the factory warranty ends? (and the mileage you chose) And what about this?

What Ford models are excluded from coverage?
Any performance modified vehicle assembled by dealer or customer (not ordered directly from Ford); examples include but not limited to: Roush, Henessey, Saleen, Shelby, and Foose. Ford GT and Transit Connect Electric are also excluded.

That’s how they work. Same goes for the 5/60,000 powertrain warranty. Your seven year warranty just became 2 additional years. Your choice if you want one or not.

The GT350 is purchased directly from Ford. It has nothing to do with Shelby American other than the licensing of the name and badge. If you buy a Mustang GT and then send it to Shelby to make it a Super Snake then yes, naturally it would be excluded.

So if I bought the $0 deductible, 7yr 75k warranty I would be paying $4265 for 3 years of coverage on my 2017?

I’m not sure why you will not go onto Ziegler’s site and punch in your information but I went ahead and did this for you. As you car is considered “used” at this point you options are more limited, I.e. no $0 deductible. I put you in at 12k miles.

Thanks for going out of your way to try and help! Sorry I wasn’t more clear at my question… I have done that online, so I’m not confused about how to do it, I was clarifying that the timeframe represents from the first purchase date of your car, not from today. Meaning if I bought a seven year warranty, since I am four years in, that only covers me three more years, not seven.

Is that understanding correct?

No problem, I didn’t fully understand your question. As it is a used warranty it starts on the day you purchase your ESP.

Got it, so that would mean around $4k for me to have the Ford ESP vs $3k for a third party over the same timeframe. Clearly in favor of $4k for Ford ESP rather than working with a third party?

Also, if I have a resonator delete, does that void warranty claims etc?

Ford ESP over 3rd party any day. You can go to any Ford dealer without question. That alone makes it worth the extra bucks.

As far as the res delete that is a question for the ages. Maybe checkout this thread.

https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...ranty-work-because-of-an-h-pipe.166735/page-8

Now the way it should be is that unless your res delete mod directly impacts the defect your claiming on the ESP is "should" not be an issue. But that really depends on how your dealer presents the claim to Ford. Now the tread pertained to a car with Active Exhaust which you do not have. I would venture to guess that your res delete would not be an issue 99.9% of the time.

They only do new car. (That’s why the under 41k miles and time from purchase limitations) These numbers are going to be quiet a way off from used car ESP. Lombard has a online quote for used Car ESP.
