My retail order was placed on 6/12. Not only do I have a VIN... but it is awaiting shipment. It was completed today. That's the good news. The bad news is my dealer uses the same order codes for 2015 as 2016. COTUS shows my order as a fully loaded Platinum F150 4x4. Oh well.

Deysha confirmed for me this week that my order is in Ford's system and it IS for a Mustang GT. She's the greatest! I think COTUS apparently "Still has a few bugs in the system." :D

Sort of glad that right now I DON'T know when it's coming. I'm letting the cash pile up for "goodies" and more new stuff is hitting the aftermarket every day.

That is all...
Lol! Remember Waldorf, COTUS is still in a pilot phase and has not been rolled out for all regions or vehicle nameplates. What you find on the site may not be the most up-to-date information. Now, stop getting people riled up and thank you for the kind words!

That adds a wrinkle to the "no retail orders being scheduled yet", thanks Waldorf

Also love to find out how/why they are building 2016s before the August 3rd date. Love to hear Deysha post and confirm this.
I confirm this F-150 is, in fact, awaiting shipment, StangMan04. :D

Am I being accused of stirring the pot?:lol:
Can I buy that F150 for the same price as my GT? Don't answer that!

Thank you again, Deysha!

What's forcing me to be patient is the IRS. Everybody's got "the cure" for wheel hop in the aftermarket. I wanna crawl under it and see EVERYTHING. I still have a '93 T-Bird with the old pushrod 5.oh and IRS. Getting the IRS the way I wanted it took a lot of doing, mostly with Frankensteined parts. Different now... everybody's got a "better idea". Just a matter of driving the car and checking out the rear sub-frame. Then picking the right bolt on. Like Joe Walsh once sang in a song, "People say I'm lazy but it takes all my time." That's me these days. :D

New ball game for me here. The control arms are much shorter, and the LCA mounting bolts aren't in the same plane. It'll get here... eventually.

Now if the dealer were to offer me that F150 for the price I paid for mine... I'd take it in a heartbeat. Looked at the window sticker on COTUS - $55k!

Just remember, new stuff is hitting the aftermarket everyday. Bigger, Better, and more expensive. Don't buy too much now, it might be outdated by the time you get the car!

Be patient!
That is all...
That is very true and good point. Tried to stay to simple things like exhaust but already saw an upgrade coming out for the catch can I got:headbonk:

How are people getting their VINS already? I just got an email from my dealer today stating that since no 2016s were in production yet I wouldn't be able to get a VIN but he would periodically check for one. I ordered my car on 6/5 if that makes a difference.

Well, if you read back through some of this you'll find that there are two types of orders: stock and retail. The only folks getting VINs and/or build dates at this point are ones designated for dealer stock (but presumably the dealer is going to sell the car to the one who asked for it).

Apparently, at some point designated by Ford which I've heard referred to on this forum as "OK to Buy" priorities switch and retail orders take precedence over stock orders.

The stated reason for the stock over retail at first is to "work the bugs out" but I have a feeling it's more to get cars on the lot for other potential sales. Hey, they know they're getting your money (retail order).

It seems like you were just assigned a VIN yesterday, Rogues Gambit. The build date and ETA should be assigned within the next week or so. I’m happy to check on it for you. Just PM me with your VIN.

PM Deysha (FordService) with your info. Her last post is just above yours. You're way ahead of me!

That is all...
Thanks for the mention, Waldorf!

Because some dealers put in customer orders as “stock” orders, MDRN. Since we build a small amount of stock first, they try to jump the gun and help you guys out.

How much faster do stock orders get build compared to retail? If its a whole month, maybe I can offer to pay an extra 100 to get mine placed as stock. The wait is killing me since I have no car for 24/24 use. I have to share with my papa :(( so 100 for a month of Mustang love is cheap!

NewLoveForTheStang,

Might try the WIKI tab on the top of this page. About 1/2 way down is the section on ordering. It'll explain Ford's order system. Come August 3rd, stock orders will be built first on allocation. Then retail orders get mixed into the allocation at a later (unknown by me) date.

Stock orders DO NOT have price guarantees, while retail orders do. That means that if your dealer orders it as stock and there's a price increase, it will be passed on to you at the time of delivery. Just another variable to contemplate.

Have you ordered yet?

Best of luck either way!

Thanks for the info, guess I'll keep it simple and retail cause the only suprise that comes with stock is a price increase :D

And yes! I just recently ordered a 2016 Shadow Black Ecoboost. Hopefully the shadow black will look better than 2015 black. I've only seen one picture of shadow black from a shelby 350GTR and it looks sick! :clap2:....but it could just be that the GTR is just a beauty in its own class that can enhance any color :
Till then...

Let us all who ordered shadow black pray
For the light of the sun on delivery day
To be the most beautiful, elegant sun ray
So when it shines, the shadow and shadow black makes people say:

God damn that is one sexy stang!:headbang:
