So I know this topic has been beat to death, but I can't really find my answers. I want to confirm my knowledge before I pull the plug and start ordering parts.
Let me first of by saying "most" of the videos on YouTube are of '14s or earlier, not the '15s. And to my knowledge, Ford did something different with the '15 V6 to give it a slightly different tone.
Anyways, I'm deciding between Roush Axlebacks or Borla ATAK Axlebacks (does anyone know if one of these is louder than the other?)
I plan on an H-pipe as well. Are X-pipes louder than H-pipes, or is the main difference the tone and HP gain? I know X-pipes tend to give rasp on our V6s, but an H-pipe sounds deeper.
Also, Cats. To my knowledge, taking them off creates more rasp. But doing so also makes the exhaust louder, correct?
My local exhaust shop said they can fabricate an X-pipe (I forgot to ask about an H-pipe, but I assume they can fabricate one as well). Is that what you guys do - have them fabricate one? They quoted me at about $100 (plus welding of course), which seems much cheaper than ones I can order online.
My end goal is to have a really loud V6. I was recently in a parking lot and a V6 Mustang w/ Roush AB, x pipe, and cat delete which started up next to me. His cold start was incredible loud. I was giggling at his revs as they echoed off the buildings. But I enjoyed it. He did mention he was switching over to an H-pipe, I assume due to the rasp, but I didn't ask why.
