Have you considered the ARH exhaust? It can direct connect to their headers too if you are so inclined and it sounds epic with no drone and quite subtle when off the gas.

I just ordered the Corsa Touring axleback today on Amazon for $1100 with black tips and free 2 day shipping, plus 5% back since I used my Amazon card.

I figure if the axleback is too tame I can then move to the x-pipe later on, but I want it to be fairly quiet as I work nights and I don't need the old lady across the street beating me with her cane for waking her up. Been agonizing over it for two weeks now as to which I would choose, and it eventually came down to this or the Borla Touring (non-Ford). Price on the Corsa was better and I like the note a little bit more so I went with it.
Brotha, you could get the full catback from vendors on here for literally a few more dollars.....I know because I've got a full black tip corsa xtreme catback coming tomorrow for very little more than what you paid for the mufflers and tips.

Yeah, but I don't want the full catback. Also, I didn't want to lay out the cash for the exhaust right now because I'm not sure how much my excise tax is going to cost for the car, I'd rather sit on the "play" money for a few more weeks until I get that bill but I can't stand how quiet the car is :p

Why no catback? IMHO, it's the only way to go on these cars. The stock catback exhaust on these cars are one piece, so they are extremely easy to remove (no cutting). If you don't like how the catback sounds, you can take it off and put the stocker back on...or go with a different brand catback.

If you purchase an axleback, you're stuck with that brand. There is no putting it back to stock, and no guarantee that the next axleback will be able to bolt up...as they all require different cut positions.

And yes, for almost the price you paid for your axleback you could have had a full catback from Beefcake.

I bought my 16 GT and thought the same thing, too quiet! So my budget allowed an X-pipe resonator delete and after a year the stock mufflers still sound great with no drone. I'd like some Borla mufflers but the $$ is too high.

You can certainly put the stock mufflers back on, just have to get a shop to do it. Did it on my last car for $60, took about 20 minutes. That being said, I understand the catback argument but I can go to a full catback later, you literally just buy the x-pipe from Corsa and bolt it in the same as if you bought the catback in the first place. I have to be careful of the exterior volume so I'm going the cautious route :p

Plus I really like the sound of the "touring" version.

This....

Between them and hypermotive, truly excellent prices.

There's no right or wrong way to mod your car, or spend play money, so to each his own brotha. But you paid $1109 for the axleback when you could've had the cat-back for $1139 and had the x-pipe laying around for when you felt the whim to throw it on. Just food for thought. The vendor base here will always get you better prices than you can otherwise find. They're pretty awesome. Shout out to Beefcake, RDP store, and Hypermotive in particular but they're all super helpful, even if you're just looking for info and opinions.

I cant imagine the X Pipe on its own being any less than 3-400 plus shipping. So you will end up paying 1500 or so all said and done. The factory mid muffler is very restrictive. If there was any power to be had from a catback, which there is very little, that would be where most of it lies I would think?

Yeah, I mean it depends on what you're after. As far as flow, thereby power, in the stock exhaust the 2 "pinch points" are the factory resonator and the factory cats. To solve for the resonator you get an x or h pipe, to solve for the cats you get long tubes. If you only want sound, axlebacks are a somewhat effective solution. Even then, a catback gets you more. In the case of the corsa sport, that's not necessarily more volume overall, but rather more of a change to the note/sound quality. At the end of the day, whatever helps you tickle your boat to sleep at night is what you should do.

Look man, I understand what you're saying and I'm not arguing I could have saved a little through a vendor. I was impatient and wanted exhaust now but I didn't want to pay out of pocket for it this week. I'm expecting the wonderful commie state of Massachusetts to charge me around $1000 excise tax on this car (my ecoboost was "valued" at $36k and they charged me $700 for that one) so I'll sit on the cash for now until I see whats up with that. In the end $100 isn't going to kill me and I got what I wanted. Maybe I shouldn't have posted about it at all tbh, just enjoyed my exhaust.

That's exactly right man, you enjoying your exhaust at the end of the day is what's important. Money is money, there will be more. My posts definitely weren't meant to rag on you, just to make sure that as a member of the community, you know what's available to us, and you're informed enough to take advantage when and if you can/see fit to.

This is actually incorrect. It's 2.5" all the way through (except at the front where it meets with the headers, but all catbacks neck down there too), so it is not a flow restriction compared to a 2.5" X or H-pipe. What it lacks is good crossflow. It allows for some pressure equalization but does not provide scavenging as efficiently as an X pipe, nor do you get the acoustic benefits.
