ESS Forum members,
Local guy selling an ESS G4R kit. 10 rib set up, balancer, pulleys. Anyone heard of this kit? ESS sold it to him for testing? A friend may be interested, but never heard of a G4R.

I'm going to guess at about 1100 rwhp it's going to have belt issues on a coyote regardless of the 10 rib. Just my opinion from some things I've seen.
What's the issue with 10rib? I'd think that would be fine.

You can have as many ribs as you want but the overall design is going to have issues at a certain level. Every brand and application can only go so far reliably on a belt.

Curious what issues you are referring to- Belt slip?, belts breaking? Other problems?

You mentioned "what you have seen". Have you seen something specific that is an issue on this kit at 1100hp with 10rib?

Yes slipping, belts breaking, deflection, overall reliability. Every brand and design and application will show its issues at a certain level.

Obviously the way the vehicle is used applies as well. A vehicle driven say 2k miles a year that is rarely raced will usually have less issues then a vehicle raced often.

I'd prefer not to comment anymore about it then I've already explained.

In general if people want to go 1200 or more on a coyote I always just recommend a twin turbo setup.
