Does anyone know anything about the lockable center console that comes with the Enhanced Security Package? How it operates, how do you use it, etc? Thanks.

I believe it it's tied to the key fob so until you are sitting in the car the center console will stay electronically locked so even if someone breaks in they would have to break into the console too.

To me it only seems worth it if you have a convertible. Like those situations where you want to run in and out of a store real quick and don't feel like putting the top up.

Agreed. I think the ESP is ideally made for the convertible for exactly those situations.

Well if they bust the window, I'm pretty sure they have the ability to bust open some flimsy plastic with a simple screwdriver.

The more I read about it, the less inclined I'm to get it on the fastback. If someone breaks in your car, they are going to break in everywhere else in your car at that point.

Criminal mindset. If i crash the window i grab what is within reach and run they are in and out in less than a minute. No one is going to sit there prying at a lock.

Hence why no one forces open locked glove boxes or trunks but why would I know that.

Especially if at that point the alarm is causing a racket ..

I would get the security pack for the wheel locks alone. I guess we live in a different part of the world.

Exactly

This first one happened to my old club member in front of his house.

This happened at our old Apartment (this is not mine)

Neither of these are in high crime areas. Like I said let these people think that Windows are a safety barrier from criminals. It's actually the opposite because they know you don't lock your stuff up inside

In our area, the police hands our stickers and signs that you can behind your window saying: "On advice from the police I did not leave anything of value in this car." (With the official police logo etc.)

That doesn't stop any theft of actual car parts though. Wheels, Navigation units (even the built-in ones!) and - believe it or not - airbag units are stolen from cars here. I am definitely getting the extra security pack and park it inside a locked garagebox.

Mustangs are pretty much 'exotic cars' here. Now if I could only think of something that prevents paint damage from haters that make scratch marks with a key on your car out of jealousy ...
(pretty much leaning toward a full body vinyl wrap or something)

For the perimeter and interior motion detectors.. I would be happy with it and the wheel locks.... for the likes of it I can't imagine why someone would leave their top down going into the store even if it is a quickie... the security package would be beneficial for that but around here... plenty of birds and sea gulls seem to go on bombing runs

This was a no brainer for me, $395 is nothing really and the lockable console is worth it for me alone.

I carry a gun most of the time and liked to lock it in my '13 GT console when going in bars or schools. Most of the time I came out, started my car, and then shit, had to turn car off and unlock console so if God forbid I need it I can get it.

Thank you :ford:

Edit - Oh and per the Product Guide I posted it also locks the steering column electronically which I hadn't heard about until then..whatever that does..

I am the same exact way, I will bring my gun with me and then if I go to a bar or my hockey game it gets locked in the console so the fact that I don't have to remember to unlock it and it unlocks the same way the car does (via sensor) is a very nice addition.

I've seen this before, right here in My Apartment Complex. This probably wasn't someone stealing the wheels though, it was probably someone Behind on their Payments to Rent-A-Rim or Rent-N-Roll for their 22, 24, or 26 inch Wheels. I've seen them reposessing the wheels. They will leave your shit high and dry like this.

I personally want the Enhanced Security Package. The Alarm and Wheel Locks would cost more than the $395 and the Auto Locking Console is just a very cool feature to me. Not to mention that most Insurance Companies give you a Discount for an Alarm/Security System.
