I'm sorry for the confusion, everyone.
Cobra Jet is correct.
I had to paid $7K for the repair for the EB. KBB value was $19K, and dealership gave me $21K for the trade-in.
Wow! A lot of dealers would never buy a car they worked on. ;)

You must have one of the good ones.

Well what's done is done and now you will a another car..

Don't forget to post pics and impressions of the GT OP.
Yes, I will do it soon.
I got a base GT with performance package. I love the GT! :) I will not do any modification under the hood, but I have installed a new exhaust already. My dealer told me that installing an aftermarket exhaust does not void the warranty (automatically) unless it directly causes the damage on the car in the future... :D

Yes, they are very nice. If I were a dealer, I would not buy the car, which had engine work, for great trade-in price... :)

Yep, the exhaust unlike a tune usually never voids the powertrain warranty right away and if you do a catback or an axle, the chances of an exhaust causing a lean/rich condition is second to none.

Yes. About two weeks ago. I don't think he was the topic creator though.

Let me tell you all how this works, I work at a dealer and have seen this happen several times. Someone comes in with a blown motor or transmission, then decide to trade the vehicle in. Well once the paper work is all done, the dealer that refused your warranty work will now turn around and warranty that engine or transmission now that they own it. Dealers have all the say in what happens, they are fully the ones that decide if you get it under warranty or deny it.

In the past couple of months there have been 6 tuned engine failures that I know of and at least half were Cleveland. So much for the Valencia theory.

If a dealership installs a new engine doesn't that new engine come with a warranty?

Congratulations on the trade. Well.played sir.

This is probably common knowledge but has anyone with the ford performance tune blown up?

Here is my update.

I have decided to trade in my EB, and I got a base GT. I was afraid that the EB engine may blow-up in the future. Btw, my (theirs now) EB is still at the dealership and waiting for a part... I know it's been over 3 weeks since I taked with dealership...

I talked with both sales and service person at the dealership last week, and I was able to get a pretty good trad-in value on the EB (about $2000 more than KBB trade-in value). And I got a good price on GT as well.

Here are some pictures of the blown engine and new engine.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions and help!

This is the exact location that mine blew back in November. That $7k bill was not a fun one to pay. Congrats on the GT tho!

Not that I'm aware of and I scour this threads like a hawk. It's only been out since March really. Likely going to need year to find out. That's why I feel like getting a GT around 40-60k.
