Amen to this! I've done a lot of Tuning on my 2001 Z28 from the various setup changes for the past 10 years and takes research to get a handle on the Parameters available, what each parameter does, and how that parameter effects and works with the engine. Make a mistake on one Cell and change the value by 5% instead of .5% and boom goes the engine!I think there is a lot of speculation going on with what happened, but I will do my best to lay out what really matters
1. Anybody that is determined, or careless enough can blow up anything, even if completely stock.
2. An improper, or poorly done tune can blow up a car even if it's making less power than stock
3. A properly done tune can be reliable at very impressive hp levels, but it has to be properly done, which is much more difficult than many people realize.
Are you kidding?!!!!.. LoL, all the reason in the world why this happened is the rpm level. Turbo charged engines aren't made to rev high like a NA V8 or V6.... I would not run the ecoboost much above the factory limiter of 65-6700 rpm, maybe 7k. The mustang 2.3 shares its displacement with the RS, but that's it. The Mustang 2.3 internals are not forged, like the RS. Even the turbocharger is different. A person would be stupid to run it past 7k rpm. And for that matter, according to a Ford Engineer/Relative, the Eco-stang is only safe upto about 425 crank hp, after that, it's Russian Roulette. The RS is safe to about 500 crank hp. And oddly, the old, gone for 18' 3.7 V6 was safe upto 450 rwhp, or about 515-520 crank hp.Wow! sucks to be whoever that is. No reason why that should be happening.
