You bought the DWK-17U0400958 with the top hat. The DWK-17U0000958 don’t have the top hat and are like factory and let you use the fuel rail clips that come with the kit.
Didn't even know there was two kinds. Oh well I got them in after all. Doing WOT tuning with Lund now and it feels really good. Still can't figure out the tapping sound but I think there might be something physically in the exhaust pipe.

How loud are we talking with the tapping? Is it "I'm anal retentive like Jobodizo so if it makes a sound it's too loud" tapping? Or is it "there's something there that didn't used to be there before and I'm worried about it" sound level tapping? Is it louder than the diesel-esque whirring from the blower bearings and clicking from the injectors? Any way you could post a video?

Its a "I'm highly concerned about having a pan full of metal" kind of loud. The last time I heard something like this was on a 150k mile LS1 that spun a cam bearing. However, it pretty much goes away right off idle. I honestly can't make heads or tails of it, I'm about to go jack up the car and tap on the exhaust to see if I hear anything.

I bet paycheck.it is an exhaust leak somewhere.Mine could only hear at idle and in drive with windows up.Mine was the midpipe clamp where the midpipe slides over the header.Tightened it up and light knock gone.

Thanks for the tip, I did tighten these down twice now as I just bought new OEM clamps. The original ones were bent from when I got rear ended and the exhaust took a big hit. I'll check them again.

My guess for the 2 cents Canadian...

I am guessing it’s the new axle back you installed and the noise is where it’s leaking where the axle back attaches to regular pipes. Could be one or both sides...

I know you’re checking your exhaust, but have a look at these areas as well.

I hope that’s all it is...

Good luck!!

I have the OEM exhaust on, sorry for the confusion. I put it on just in case so I could hear any issues with the blower install. I think I may have found the culprit, it looks like it might be the ball coupling on the drivers side cat pipe. The thing is somehow rusted to oblivion and I'm not sure how it got that way. You can't even tell there was a nut on the end its just a lump of brown rust.

Nice! I hope that’s it!!

Well, if you just have that AWE sitting there not being used... I know a guy in Ontario that would take it off your hands...

How did you put the original back on? Was your axle back not a cut and slide on type? I know the CJPP...

Awesome! If you end up replacing that clamp let us know where/what you buy. Mine’s looking a little worse for wear, too.

With the window up and car is running mine is loud. The BAP makes the pump louder and the DW95 tick really loud. We are use to having a quite ride and notice every little sound. There is a lot going on when you hit the start button now that you have a supercharger. You will get use to all the noises.

I think you have me confused with someone else brotha I have a Krona catback that I took off. I have not cut the stock pipes. Actually I shouldn't say that the original set that came on the car I put a corsa axleback on but I got rid of that and got another factory exhaust from a member here.

Yup!

My bad!

I’m hoping it’s the exhaust leak like you thought though.

On another note I'm on the final revision of my Lund tune unless I noticed any big problems and it feels incredible. Car pulls so hard but drives smoother than stock. Can't say enough good things about the work Alex did.

Boost comes on more gradually with it. Without its more of an instant hit. I like it better without.
