EcoBoost vs. Pre-Coyote GT?

I wouldn't call that Camry an average family hauler considering it's price is low 30s. If you bought a base ecoboost you're faster with a more mod friendly motor while being cheaper. Not sure how you can complain about that.

Average car price these days *is* around 30k. F*cking inflation. But point taken.

Lost to a 370Z, but it was a NISMO.
Beat a Challenger R/T (but this was after the Unleashed Tune).
Beat a WRX (no idea if manual or not) stock. Not sure what year.
Lost to a G37, when stock.

Edit: Those were all fine, too. About what I expected from the car... competitive, decent, but not the fastest thing around. Haven't had any Camrys or Accords lining up to hoon at a stoplight, though, so can't tell if they are faster or not for certain.

My buddies 2015 V6 XSE Camry ran a 14.6 with drag radials, and a 6.3 0-60. The ecoboost is well above that.

Yeah, f*ck this motor. I'm trading it in when I have the money (though I was probably going to do that anyway). Unless someone has a way to get it into sub-4.5 0-60 and sub 12.5 1/4 mile for less than $1000, anyway.

Look at that. Altima. Maxima. Camry. Regular Lancer. Accord. Mazda 3. A f*cking Hyundai. Hard to call this a performance car when that's your competition. I've half a mind to flash it back to stock, run it on 87, and drive it like an economy car to save money until I can dump it.

e30 tune. Some guy got 12.3 with the ecoboost.

Just read this thread .... very interesting. Why not just end it with saying the 2.3T Mustangs are very cool cars that are fun and affordable to drive every day. Cars like Camrys are not cool or fun to drive, that's why we have Mustangs regardless of engines. Arguing 0-60 and 1/4 mile times/speeds are interesting stats for the racers amongst us, but how the car feels and performs while driving overall is just as important. Did I mention it's a really cool car?

Exactly, that's how the Mustang started back in the mid-60s. An affordable, fun to drive coupe. Is just a matter of taste and/or preference if you want a pony car or a muscle car. To me, the real Mustang experience is the V8. Since I was 12, I felt in love with its exhaust and engine soundtrack.

I agree Camrys are not cool. Actually the opposite. But when I got loaner V6 having hitch installed on wife's Highlander, it was a lot of fun to drive. Seriously. Not trying to start a flame, but more fun that most of Turbo 4s

That's one opinion. To me, the REAL Mustang is experience is competing and winning races. My Cobra sounded terrible but it rarely saw tail lights.

I'm planning on a sport exhaust for my 2.3T (looking at Borla and a few others right now), along with a downpipe, catch-can and a tune. I'm still debating the intercooler upgrade. (getting almost as much rear-wheel torque as a Coyote with these mods). Not for racing, just for the improved sound and performance and maybe to shock a few "muscle car" drivers along the way.

Great car and they're tons of fun. I would buy one if they had some of the creature comforts the S550 comes with. I'm weak and need cooled seats in my daily driver.
