EcoBoost vs. Pre-Coyote GT?

This forum has single handedly caused me to lose all faith in the Mustang community. At this point I just get on here to see all the stupid shit people say and laugh at it.

Don't lose faith. Maybe in the INTERNET Mustang guys... but in the real world, most Mustang folks I've met have been cool people.

I have to wonder if half these idiots online even HAVE Mustangs.

Yup sorry to break it to you bud but a 2012 camry v6 0-60 sprint is in 5.7 seconds quartermile 14.1 seconds! It might be a drivers race who knows. If you want a performance buy a v8 doesn't matter what 4.6, 5.0 or 5.2lt. You guys are gonna piss off lot of old v8 owners here.

Evo's and Subaru's are different. They are Rally inspired lightweight awd 4 banger monsters and proven to be reliable on the long run. Do not even compare those cars to the ecoboost. The upcoming Ford Focus RS will be a monster too.

Uh... hate to break it to you, but the stock Ecoboost 0-60 is 5.2 and quarter mile is 13.6. You know, about the same as the 4.6. But here's your crackpipe, sir! Take a looooong pull.

Oh and, about that Camry you said does 5.7? Here's a quote from Edmunds:

Well if it has more power then it will blow up in a couple thousand miles, cause its an EB. Doesn't sound like a very good deal for RS owners.

It's funny. The Focus ST is 3250lbs. The Focus RS, with AWD, will probably be a bit more. Maybe 3300lbs - 3350lbs. EB Mustang is 3500lbs. Focus RS will probably come in around 320HP (they are bumping up the motor a hair).

So figure with AWD, a bit more power, and lighter weight... it'll do 0-60 maybe .3-.4 seconds faster.

Now suddenly it's a "monster" whereas the Ecoboost Mustang is "slow."

Edit: Still wouldn't mind having a Focus RS as a grocery getter, though. Sounds like it'll be a sweet car.

The MKIV R32 gained roughly 200lbs over the normal GTI VR6 so I would think there will be more weighted added with the AWD system. I might be wrong though. I wouldn't be surprised to see the RS tip the scales very close to what a bare bones EB weighs.

You might be right. I'm not as familiar with AWD cars.

Either way, it'll be a marginally faster car and will probably handle like a dream. I've just never been able to swing over to the Hot Hatch crowd. Much prefer classic sports car/pony car looks.

But looks like a great car in the making, nonetheless. And I respect what some of the Hot Hatch folks have been able to do with cars like that.

Stock for stock 4.6 has better 0-60 times. Good driver can do 4.8, while average/most drivers probably get low 5s. Doesn't the Ecoboost start at mid-5s with a good driver?

Low 5s with good driver, stock. 5.1-5.2. Most normal drivers can/should get 5.4-ish, also stock.
