I won't say because I don't believe the tune was responsible. I will say I still use the same tuner with no issues.

Fair enough. What are your thoughts on the main cause?

Just because you haven't had a problem with that tuner before doesn't mean anything. How do you know it was bad gas you don't just guessing.

It's likely that they don't unless something is suspicious with the car like worn downpipe bolts from swapping them back to the stock DP or aftermarket intake, etc

Most do ask for downloads now why because they want to see it. Make sure right decision is being made, takes it out of dealer hands, dealer trying to pull fast one (helping family or friend), to check if dealer missed something or needs more things done.

So, do oil catch cans count as a mod that Ford would deny warranty for? Seems minor, but probably officially counts as a mod to emissions control systems.
