Joe why do you think you had a bad engine from the beginning?

That's terrible to hear :(I had the car back to 100% stock. They knew it had been modified they said they could see it when they plugged into the ecu even when I had did the key cycle thing 100 times or more.
For all who are wondering what happened with my car, the motor blew up
Not sure what gear just merged on the highway when I floored it to pass cars and it happened. I was running my 93 tune with 93. I can't be sure that the engine was bad from the start I'm just assuming. That's terrible to hear :(
What octane fuel were you running? What gear were you in when you floored it?
Wonder if it was the same piston/rod that blew on Mattrix's motor here in this thread. Not sure what gear just merged on the highway when I floored it to pass cars and it happened. I was running my 93 tune with 93. I can't be sure that the engine was bad from the start I'm just assuming.
It was the 3rd spark plug in when looking from the front on the motor towards the inside of the car. So is that cylinder 3? Regardless it should not have blown with only 7000 miles on itWonder if it was the same piston/rod that blew on Mattrix's motor here in this thread.

Mattrix's might have been cylinder #2 from the front based on the photos in his post (not 100% sure though). Looks like the cam phasers are on the front end of the head ... if so, then looks to be Cly #2 that blew on his engine. It was the 3rd spark plug in when looking from the front on the motor towards the inside of the car. Not sure if I reached 6th gear at that time or not. So not sure the gear either 5 or 6 I guessWhat gear were you in?
LSPI might have been the culprit. Out of curiosity, what oil were you running? Not sure if I reached 6th gear at that time or not. So not sure the gear either 5 or 6 I guess
Dealer changed oil in the car so whatever it calls for from the factory. And that ridiculous that you have to downshift just to floor it. I had an automatic so I shouldn't have to downshift to floor it. Either way it's my fault I did the mods knowing that something could happen but I was not expecting the dealer to be able to trace the tune after following the advice on this forum. Not blaming anyone so don't take that the wrong way.yep LSPI was one of the things i was concerned about when i had my wrx. i never, ever went WOT at low RPMs while in a high gear for this reason.
I really like you're handling the situation, taking the blame and not blaming anyone else.Dealer changed oil in the car so whatever it calls for from the factory.
