If the ford cost is over 6K it may be worth it to get a MAP long block and do the install yourself or with some buds.

Wait what???? First time I've ever heard of this. Not saying it's not true but can you go a little more in depth.
car ran what seemed great, but on stoplights and such it idled weird. stock tuned or tuned. no codes. i talked to the dealer a couple of times but nothing came of it. then a tech called me and told me to take it and that he would check it based on a couple of ecos hes Seen. That was friday, took it in on tuesday, and as luck would have it on the drive there the check engine pops up. fuel rail sensor b circuit low and fuel rail cranking pressure low. They changed the pump and idle was fixed but it turns out the sensor also has to be replaced. The tech tells me its the 5th pump hes replaced and it malfunctions waaaay before throwing a code. That it would basically work fine wide open but anything under 50% throttle and its knock city. and other than the occasional rough idle nothing. itll throw a code when its at the brink of going out. Im talking about last week, picked it up yesterday

And just throwing it out there... there are dealers and then theres dealers. I bring my car in fully bolt on with catch cans tune and all and they dont bat an eye at it. SO far theyve changed the entire ecu, a fuel pump and a sensor. They even gave me the ecu part number so i could re tune it. A dealer 45 mins away wont even change my oil because its "on springs"

I wonder if the fuel pump pressure could cause it to backfire like my car did without throwing any codes. It was weird- pop, pop, cloud of smoke out the back and then it ran totally normal ever since.

dealer just told me fuel pumps on these go very bad before giving you a sign or check engine light. In fact I just had mine replaced, and only because I saw a code on the access port. when they tested it it was waaaay bust
Funny enough, one lady I met at my local dealer said they were replacing her fuel pump...

I did not get the year of the car (was a 2015/16). It was a V6.

How many times do we have to tell you kids to NOT void the warranty if you can't afford to fix it yourself?

Your options are....

1.> Fix it yourself.
2.> Pay someone else to fix it.
3.> Stop paying for it and let the repo man tow it away.
4.> Tell your dad he can borrow the car and when it doesn't start blame him and tell him to get it fixed.
5.> Pull a David Copperfield and make it disappear and collect insurance.
6.> Jewish lightning, collect insurance

Also, all this talk about Spain vs. US engine is nonsense is it not? What evidence exists that there are actual part differences between these engines? I thought Adam from Tune+ broke down a Spanish engine and found some bolts were not torqued correctly but no part difference. Correct me if I am wrong and please provide documentation to back up your claims.
Agree with that... I have 10k set aside to replace my engine... might even go "big turbo" (yea, I'd upgrade the intercooler if I went big turbo).

Was going to trade it for a GT, but I would have had to pay more than 10k. Plus, on the insurance side, I save a lot of money. Generally love the turbo for my area and style of driving. Love getting 32 mpg when driving like someone has some sense and turning everything to "off".

GT did not do anything for me either (test drove two). I considered going GT heavily when all of this ecoboom crap started. Due to the miles on my car, I was not offered much. And that was 5k miles ago...

My car is paid off so I'm good with waiting for the engine to blow. If it does not, that is a plus.

I am amazed at the number of peeps who void the warranty without having the funds to replace the damaged parts. Personally, I could have 3 fully loaded EB's in the driveway and still wouldn't void the warranty, but that must be a generational difference. Also, if I wanted a track ready car without a Warranty I would buy a used Boss/GT500 and be done with it.

I had mentioned this situation to my father last night. When I was in my 20s, not many at my age had a new car, only the rich kids. I had old muscle cars that were paid for in cash, so no car payment, and speed parts could be had used , at junkyards, swap meets, or Id make them myself. Times have changes so much, just the mentality of debt is so different these days. There is no way on earth id make a large car payment, insurance payment, then modify the car I don't even own. I'm not knocking anyone, I just grew up in an earlier generation, so my mentality is different.

The one i bought it from. First time i took it i fully unbolted everything to stock only to get there and they were working on a helion gt. They told me they rather i be upfront on the mods and tuner. So I did. When they replaced the ecu they told me that unplugging the battery has nore of a chance of messinh with the ecu than a tune was, so why sould they punish me?. This is not the first mod friendly dealer ive seen
