Well I'll bring this up because this is something that isn't touched on much with the Eco-Boost, or also cars like Audi with their Turbos.

They require PREMIUM fuel to get the power you need, especially in the Mustang since the car weights a lot. Audis require it mandatory..you can't run regular.

So the gas/mileage savings is almost negligible between the GT and EB when you factor in cost with gallons bought per filling up the EB.

If you go by a 15 gallon tank and using combined MPG, the EB is going to get you 375 miles. The GT is 285.

BUT you have to factor in cost of premium vs regular (and you can run regular just fine in the GT and never notice the difference. You for sure will in the EB).

The .50 difference in premium vs regular nets you about a $8 dollar savings. With gas being under $2 now you can get 4 additional gallons bought with the savings of regular in the GT for that savings which equals out to 76 more miles.

So for same price paid the EB is going to get you 375 miles. The GT is going to get you 361. Over the course of a year if you filled up once a week its like a $200 savings IF that.

Sure you have to fill up a tad more...but if you're talking cost and why you are getting the EB is because of MPG, it's not as good as you think it is.

And those EB window stickers don't usually end up accurate.

Just wanted to point this out in terms of miles per gallon bought and the type of gas you need. Lots don't consider this.

Non of what you said about the EB applies to mine.. Lol.

On a full tank my range is 210 miles max.. I fuel up at 1/4 tank left with range indicating about 40-50 miles left.. and I fuel up every 5-6 days.. oh and Premium is 2.59 a gallon here.. Lol. Every fuel up is about $30-$35.

I'm spending between $110-$140 a month on gas.. I've had my car since October 2015 and it has 3,600 miles on it..

And oh yeah, I forgot to mention mine is an Auto which is supposed to be even more fuel efficient with the 3.15 gears and the "always looking for the highest gear possible" tranny.

So yeah, I don't buy into the EB's economy BS. I definitely want to trade this thing in for a GT..

I drove 140 miles in the snow - the slowest and smoothest I've ever driven - and got the claimed 31mpg.

Pretty impressive compared to my first car, a 5-speed 1.8L Mazda Protege, which never got anywhere near that.

My mileage isn't great unless I'm on the highway. Stop and go it's fairly average (20-22). Highway driving I can get significantly more (30+).

I'm not tempted to trade mine for a GT, for most things its just fine; I've had plenty of V8 cars that sounded amazing, but with this car I have only found one, maybe two that have an exhaust that I like. Otherwise I'd rather keep it quiet.

I also had the recall done (which they screwed up the first time).

My cooled seats didn't work and had to be fixed.

(I also had a wonky AC compressor on delivery).

Other than that, I've been happy. My "biggest" disappointment is the gas mileage, but it's to be expected in a car with a turbo 4 at low speeds around town.

If i drive conservatively I can get 25-27mpg mixed on my EB auto.

If its highway only 33-34mpg.

If i use sport mode often like 23mpg.

As far as MPG I get with mixed driving, 23-24 (winter) or 26-27 (summer) and 32-33 (mostly highway). When I had my 2013 fusion 1.6 EB I got about 28 mixed driving (summer)...so compared to that the mustang EB mpg is great to me.

A GT was never in the cards for me, so I have no issue with wanting to trade in my EB for a GT. I was originally considering another Fusion or a WRX. But the S550 turbo-4 changed that direction.

The only problem I've had with my car is that I had to have the E-brake "tightened up" back to factory specs.
