So I just got back from my local Ford dealer today, and test drove a EB Premium Auto.
I was origionally planning on getting a base GT, But was pleased with the off the line power of the EB, and really fell in love with all the nice features from the premium package, to the point where I would rather have them over the raw power of the 5.0. This will be my DD, and my daily commute is in HEAVY traffic in the middle of Houston. I'm lucky if I see 45mph. The MPG city is also a big factor.
as I'm weighing out my options, and future plans on the car I buy. I'm sure I will evently get board with the base power. I'm also new to the Turbo world. Everything I know if hearsay / what I've seen people done in the past.
1st question, is a Turbo Timer necessary on these cars? Do any of the tuners tuning devices act as one, like Cobb's Accessport?
2nd - as this car is my DD in heavy traffic should I stick with a more conservative tune from Cobb, or a balls to the wall tune from say livernois or Lund. I know they are reputable tuners, but how is their track record with these first tunes long term? I know this is a new platform and things are still getting worked out, but I don't want to tune my car, and come to find out it's too aggresive and I hurt somthing.
3rd - I do want to upgrade exhaust, but want to keep it emissions friendly (set it and forget it) is there anything 50 state legal yet, with good proven gains?
4th - Are bigger charge pipes compatible with this twin scroll turbo? what type of gains have people seen with them on other plattforms?
5 - Blow off Valve... If I can't have V8 grumble, I must have obnoxious sneezing. anyone currently working on this? ( i know it's "ricey" but I love it.
