Suggestions on a reasonable E85 online source for 5 gallon pails? $20 per gallon is not reasonable for my needs. I don’t mind buying a decent quantity to get a decent price but don’t have the means to move a 55 gallon drum.

It’s not going to be cheap anywhere nowadays. When I ordered six 5 gal. pails from Real Street Performance a couple of years ago, it was like $394 to my door.

My brother was looking into tuning his COPO Camaro on E85 recently and he called Real Street to check on pricing. He told me that shipping alone would be something like $190.

The best thing to do is to buy several 5 gal. fuel jugs, take them to the gas station, pump a small amount into a container and test it. If it’s high ethanol content (say 80%+) then fill up your car and containers.

I mean do you not have E85 at a local pump? If you are not running some super high compression NA setup or some boosted 1k hp setup, is pump E not enough?

I have E local and it usually tests between E78-E82. Thats about as good as you are going to get from the pump and its less than $3 a gallon. Unless there are no E stations near you, then I understand. And at that point I'd just buy several 5gal jugs and go fill them up somewhere that does have it even if its a drive.

I would not run E85 without a good quality local source. Gas is heavy and bulky, that means $$ to ship if, not including how much you're paying the middleman.

Hey it's not bad if you order a pallet of E85R (4x55 gallon)

Call around to your local fuel distributors. Ask them to install an above-ground 300-500 gallon tank. :)

You can move 55g with a suitable handtruck. Buy/rent one.

5gal quantities is lunacy. Go big or cut back on the delusion pills.

I like the way you think. Go really big and have one of these parked at your house. Should last a while.

I buy it from the pump 107 miles away…. I do this twice per season. As long as it tests over 70%, I bring home 70-100 gallons @ 3.99/gal.

I’d like to have some 55 gallon drums for E85 to store at home, but I wouldn’t have anywhere to put them.

I’ve since then converted to VP jugs. I can fit 12 of them in my Corolla and I get 5.5 gallons in each one. So I bring home about 65 gallons. Costs me only $20 in fuel for the trip VS. $50-60 using the truck. Also removes having to lift drums or pump the fuel out. The VP jugs seal awesome. You can get an 8 pack of jugs for as little as $230.00. I somehow nailed an epic sale last year and got 8 for $209.00 shipped.

Thanks for the tip. Curious about location of storage. Issues keeping 60 gallons in the garage? My wife. Has me about a 2 gallon can for my blower and trimmer.
