He says that because of the difference in how the timing ramps up. Both flex and e85r will make the same peak power, assuming all other variables are the same. E85r tune will advance timing sooner and power will start kicking in much earlier in the rpm range than flex though.The flex fuel tune is NOT a performance tune and does NOT make the same power as the dedicated e85r tune otherwise why would they make a dedicated e85 tune. The FF tune is a convenience tune to be able to use either fuel, or so you dont have to empty your tank when going from a 93 tune to a e85r tune or vise versa.
