Yes and no. For instance I race with a guy. We both have Paxton novi’s with a 3.6 pulley. We both dynod around 660wheel on 93. I have a 3800 stall converter. The other car does not. So I have the much better sixty foot. And my friend has the higher MPH. We run identical ETs. If you went strictly off mph you’d think my car was making way less power. The cars are making the same power. It’s just getting applied differently. Another thing is weight. My wife runs one mph faster than me. Simply because she’s 100 pounds lighter.
Yes and no.

All things equal, the lighter car is always faster.

Also a car that ETs better than a similarly equipped car doesn’t always equal a car with lower MPH. Quite the opposite at times, actually.

If both cars back half the same, then the car that 60’d better will actually have better mph at the big end due to having better mph at the 1/8. I’ve seen this more times than I can count.

But usually... mph is a better indicator of power being made than ET.... usually.

That's my point all things are never equal. Before I installed my 4c converter. My bolt on car would trap 118 and run 12.0s. After the converter install. I would trap 116. But the ETs were 11.5s. Did the exact same car make less power? No it didn't. But if you go strictly by mph. Youd think it did. Another point. A manual will have a better trap speed than an auto. But they both have 435 crank horse power. I agree with you that trap is a good indicator of power when you know all variables.

Yeah Man! Look at that Paxton go!!!

Is that torque dip at 5k IMRC related?

I think it may be cat protection, that is alot of power going through the stock cats and catback,Car would probably gain another 50 to 60 hp doing headers and 3in catback. Also i would not expect the stock cats to last to long at that power.
