So, i installed a Drive Shaft Shop aluminum drive shaft last weekend. Everything went in fine except for one thing… you can’t get an allen socket on the trans end to tighten the freaking allen head bolts 🤬🤬. I’ve bought and tried every combination of long and short allen sockets, ball head sockets, low profile file slim sockets, stubby allen keys and no combo will will make a good positive seat in the bolt head so you can properly torque it. I’ve even dropped the trans to lessen the DS angle, it helped very little.

Anybody got a tip here? maybe i’m just a idiot, at this point I don’t know.

Looks like you might need a longer allen socket.

Have you tried the long allen keys with a ball hex? Could this work as well: Bondhus K10 HEX-PRO Pivot Head Wrench Set

Have you asked the drive shaft manufacturer for suggestions? Surely you're not the first to have this problem.

yes. i ordered a set and tried those and it didn’t work. The pic i posted doesn’t do a good job illustrating how the DS knuckle drops down in front of the bolt making it so you can’t get a straight shot into the bolt head.

Here’s a pic from when I did mine.
Ahh ok. i will give that a shot! it does look like your set up has a good bit more room than what i’m working with.

Can you do that side first, with it out of the car?

Just shorten the Allen wrench a little more.
I’m with you. i believe it will be enough room there to have just enough of the allen stubbed out to get a wrench on.
