I always wanted a Lightning but I couldn't afford one when they were out.
when I could afford one they don't make them lol

On the plus side living in San Diego I get to drive my GT all year.
The Lightnings were awesome trucks. Now, though, I lust after the Raptor. I wish that truck were remotely in my price range!

Lol oh the struggle. I also own a 2000 lightning since 2003. It has full Hotchkiss suspension and full stifflers kit. Want to talk about a rough ride. Add shitty NYC streets too. But i still love this damn truck.

I have really been considering ordering a 2016 F150 regular cab in 4WD with the 5.0L. They only way 4400lbs and use the same trans ad the GT stangs. The whole plan would be to work with boost works in texas to put their 3.2L liquid cooled kennebell kit on it. Imagine launching that in 4WD with the instant torque of a twin screw.

I drove my F-150 HD today's to work, as I was walking to the truck I could not figure out why the door would not open ( got used to the keyless entry ) then i was also looking for the start button . But in love my truck would never get ride of it ! 2006 with 300k miles never had to replace or repair the engine , or tranny .

It was terrible. I kept trying to step on a clutch pedal that wasn't there. Kept trying to push the start button that wasn't there. I've got 295's all around so it kept following the ruts in the road. The stereo is way better. It's faster than my mustang but a whole lot more rough. It is 13 years old.
Hey, Id be willing to take it off your hands ;-). But I do love me some Lightnings. Saw a white 90's model the other day and that thing look good still.:headbang:

I wanted a Lightning but price, yeah... I had a 98 F-150 XL xtra cab with V6 and a 5 speed. It was a nice truck till the intake gasket failed and killed the perfect 130K mile motor. Was really mad about that. Cost me a bundle at a time when I was unemployed. I'll never forgive Ford for that and never looked their way again till the new Mustang. Gonna have to keep on top of issues. Had I kept current on the forums, I would have known there was an issue and could have had it replaced for $300. I'd get another Honda, but they just aren't exciting for the ones I can afford new. Hopefully the new Mustang is better.

Try going from a GTPP to an F-150 4.6L. Going from gut wrenching acceleration and very nice cornering to 10 second 0-60 and a rolling truck chassis that couldn't pull 0.5G to save it's life. I've taken a few corners in this thing almost on 2 wheels since I stopped driving the mustang. Not intentionally.
I got you beat, went from an 07 GT to a Focus...... talk about hitting the go pedal and nobody being home.

And the OP has a gorgeous Lightning, I always wanted one of those.

I switch back and fourth between the '15 Z51 Vette then the S550 which is slower then the Raptor which feels gutless compared to the 2 but still a beast... What sucks is when I drive the work truck I bought my guys, an '08 F150 Harley N/A 5.4 now that feels like a slug!!!

Lightnings are so fun, I miss my 2001 very much. I miss that truck more than any other vehicle I have gotten rid of. It was an experience to drive and I love the eaton whine and I got more comments and looks in that truck than anything I have owned.

I love my 2011 F-150 Ecobeast Screw.

I thought it was fast until I drove the Mustang.
