I think I was probably more enamored of the idea of the modern, lightweight battery than anything. And I think when I started looking, I thought the weight savings would be more than it actually is.
So, yeah, I think I needed that "Ok, yes, cool, but dude, let's look at reality here..."
Welp, ok, so, my 2015 GT is a garage queen. As of today, it has just under 8,000 miles on it. Despite the trickle charger/maintainer, the battery has finally given up the ghost. Electronics will power just fine, but the battery can't turn the engine anymore.
I found some threads, though they...
To be fair, memory nothing, LOL - my memory's a cobwebby mess, I had to do some online searching, just on a vague sort of "wait, I know it's been a while, but those numbers don't quite sound right, maybe?" thought.
And, as a guy who used to say "electric is crap" and "I'd never use...
Might need to check up on those 1988 prices there...
https://www.cjponyparts.com/resources/mustang-prices-through-the-years#1988
And, the Corvette could be had starting at $30K. The Firebird Formula 350 was $14,500. The 1987 Buick Grand National was a little over $16K. So, you didn't need...
Not really - when you're comparing something like a Civic to a Mustang, and choosing one over the other, particularly for a daily driver, fuel economy can be a serious consideration.
Plus, you can't lean hard on the car everywhere you go on every drive, not and keep your license, at any rate...

This is perpetual debate I have with my brother. He insists that the label the car came with that states what PSI to use is the way to go.
I have been more inclined to believe what I read from some mechanics, and those who've claimed tire manufacturing experience, in that no car...
I will occasionally take my 2015 GT to work. 3.15 gears, the standard 235/50R18 tires.
31 miles out of the 36.5 miles I drive to work are on cruise control about 70 MPH. The other 5.5 miles is about 35 and 45 MPH zones with a few traffic lights. I keep the tires inflated to about 48 or so...
Whether it's bigger or not in external dimensions, if they can do so without gaining weight, or, perhaps, even make it LIGHTER, then maybe.
I certainly wouldn't mind possibly making the rear seats a little more useful. Or, on the opposite hand, offer a rear seat delete option. As they exist...
How he kept control with the front passenger wheel all cockeyed like that after the collision is beyond me.
I mean, that's one way to get a shit-ton of negative camber quickly, but jokes aside, that jackass is a menace to the roads.
I like that you're totally willing to use me to get your car into 11.8 or possibly touching 11.7...
But I was to the track ONCE.
In the early 90s.
Launching a Dart Sport with a stock 318 2-bbl, dual exhaust, and a moody carburetor. Surprisingly, that did 15.6 @ 90 with the 2.45:1 axle.
I ...
At a smidgen under 150, I volunteer!
However, that would also require me to have some skill at launching, which I don't have.
In all seriousness, though, damn impressive!
I know Sunoco in the US back in the 1990s at least offered 94 octane ("Ultra 94") unleaded at the pump. They also, oddly, offered 86 octane.
Maybe I'm outdated - is AKI the same as what they labeled (RON+MON)/2?
Not sure if they still have 94 octane available or not.
Hey, hey HEY!! Do NOT question the magic of unicorn pee and gorilla semen!!
On a more serious note, this *is* intriguing. Does it not only do as advertised, but do so while still complying with emissions, etc?
I've never done a tune, so I don't know if they typically harm emissions or not...
I wouldn't say that. Electric motors can be brutes, as Tesla has proven.
A hybrid might make for interesting driving and acceleration dynamics, depending on what they do with it / how they do it.
Well, pretty much as the topic says. It seems that when I slow to a stop, it holds 2nd gear *maybe* a little longer than it should.
Just before I come to a complete stop, then it shifts down to 1. It's not overly harsh or anything, but it is definitely noticeable, and you sometimes hear a kind...
You know, I was just about to ask this about my A6.... it seems like it takes an awful long time to shift from R to D.
I've another issue I wondered about as well, but that's for another thread...
There's still some part of me that's curious as to what we'd see with each of the tamer levels of gearing... you know, given unlimited time, budget, etc...
But still, all I can say is DAMN!
